3D Dot Game Heroes Updated Adds Sackboy, Fixes Loading Screen Art Bug

That rumor about 3D Dot Game Heroes 1.01 just became official news. Atlus announced a 3D Dot Game Heroes update that changes the Dash Circuit race times, lets players keep certain swords in New Game +, and fixes a bug so unseen loading screens are in rotation.

Atlus also borrowed Sackboy from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, an addition the publisher is really proud about. “We can think of no more fitting a character to feature than one that has become synonymous with creativity and imagination in gaming: Sackboy. Now, people who start up their copy of 3D Dot Game Heroes can begin their adventures through the grand Kingdom of Dotnia with one of gaming’s most recognizable icons,” Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales at Atlus, exclaimed while, we imagine, clutching a Sackboy plushie. The LittleBigPlanet icon is now a selectable hero, along with 50 user submitted designs from Atlus’ Hall of Heroes character sharing site. There’s a penguin mech, arcade machine, manta ray, dragon cosplayer, and a neat looking lamia to save Dotnia with.

So far, this 3D Dot Game Heroes update has not been announced for Japan.

    Geez, I didn’t get any update. :[

Damn this European version that lost it’s publisher!

    • :-O The Europe version didn’t get an update?
And I was going to get this when I get back :(

Did you know that all the game copies that were still being sold got recalled?

My local electric store told me that, I was like, woot!? Kinda makes the EU version rare, lol.

        • I’ve been out of country for like, 4 months? So I have no idea what’s happening, nyaa

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be hunting for it when I get back :3

Actually, now I’m curious. Do you know why they were recalled?

          • MisterNiwa

Well I talked to that clerk that handles all the shipping of games for the store and he told me that the publisher lost the rights for it, thats why they had to call it back.

I don’t if it is true but that is what he told me, and I believe he is a reliable source.

        • BTA

I checked, and the EU publisher is still advertising it on their site. So that’s pretty strange.

Good timing, my copy that I snagged from Amazon for $20 arrived today. Hopefully I’ll have time to play a bit later.
