Famitsu has a spread on Samurai Warriors Chronicle that shows two user created heroes front and center. Whatever character you make is the star of the Nintendo 3DS game.

New to the series is the player change system, which lets you switch between four generals on the battlefield. Why switch? Each general has their own set of skills. All you need to do is tap the touch screen to swap fighters. The bottom screen appears to have a map, which makes Samurai Warrior Chronicles look really different from the screenshots released back at E3.
According to Famitsu, Samurai Warriors Chronicle is 50% complete. A release date has not been announced.
