Hokuto Musou International Ups The Violence, Adds English Voice Acting On PS3Next month, Tecmo Koei will release Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage in North America. Aside from English voice acting, the version of Hokuto Musou we’re getting has a number of changes from the Japanese release.

Japan won’t miss out on these additions because Tecmo Koei is re-releasing Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage as Hokuto Musou International. Fans who pick up the game get: English/Japanese voice acting, more gore, different enemy placement, revised bike controls, and a new stage to play.

Tecmo Koei has Hokuto Musou International slated for December 2 and it’s priced like a Greatest Hits at 3,990 yen ($48). While Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage was a multiplatform game in Japan, Hokuto Musou International is only for PlayStation 3.

They need to find a way to market this game to me as I have no idea what it is, what its about and dont see much press.

Imagine Dynasty Warriors with Fist of the North Star characters.

We’ll have an interview with the producer up soon and perhaps that will explain a little bit more.

I saw a screen shot of the exploding heads and instantly wanted it.

Try looking up Fist of the North Star on Youtube for starters and watching some episodes than watch some gameplay. Easy enough.

I love reverse censorship from Japan. It’s like waiting in line for ice cream, getting there and realizing they ran out, only to get the first scoop of a new bucket, plus free fudge and sprinkles on top for waiting so long… Not sure where I was going with that, but… more sex and violence for us Gaijin barbarians! XD

I thought I read the NA version doesn’t have dual voice…? But the Japanese re-release does? :o

That was a very confusing read because it seemed like you were using the Romaji/English titles interchangeably. I don’t know exactly what we’re getting (for PS3 or 360 if there are differences), and what Japan gets.

It isn’t clear if Koei is adding extra content/changes on top of Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage for Hokuto Musou International. This post is really about HMI though – not the US game – which will only be released on PS3 in Japan. The US game has the same content on Xbox 360 and PS3..One thing, I can confirm the US version is more violent than the Japanese version with exploding heads.

Exploding heads? That’s what I like to see! True to the source material.

I really hope they still include the Japanese voices. I don’t think I could ever experience Fist of the North Star in English. Not to mention Koei isn’t very good when it comes to English voices. I really don’t want to see another Gundam Musou 2 happening :(

The US version is dual audio.

no Kamiya Akira for Kenshirou, but still.. atatatatatata wachaa!!

Really, I though the EN voices for DWG2 were fine. About 80% of the original dub actors came back, and really, seeing as Koei dindt dub the TV series, the actors performances cant be blamed on Koei themselves. Even then, most of them were pretty good. Except for Yazans new voice.
