Chocobo’s Dungeon 2 Waddles Onto PlayStation Network This Month

It’s a few months late, but Square Enix is still bringing Chocobo’s Dungeon 2 to PlayStation Network in Japan.

Over Twitter, Shinji Hashimoto announced the second Chocobo’s Mysterious Dungeon game will be available for PSP and PlayStation 3 on October 27.

The news also gave Hashimoto a chance to post another photos of Chocobo goods lying around Square Enix’s office. There’s more pictures of obscure Chocobo items from Square Enix’s closet here.

  • I hope this ends up getting a US release as well.
I still have my original disc to this but this is my favorite dungeon crawler that I have played.

So many have you have some sort of partner with you, so few actually let a second person play as them though. I spent so many hours on this game when I was younger playing with friends ^-^

Having a second player is fun but it does break the game. Once taking your turn, the second player can move unlimited spaces and attack once, so you can attack, then move out of range so you’ll be safe with whoever your second character is. Neither Chocobo or your other character will need to be in range. Aside from that, you can change it to CPU control and Shiroma will be able to restore Chocobo to full health from danger once each floor(if you’re either playing one player or need to do so on 2p.)

I’ve played a ton on the game. High level magic, most of the feathers, etc. It’s my favorite dungeon crawler as well. I even got two Omega Essence and made Titan Claw and Titan Saddle. Getting a lot of the feathers requires using Polish Card to get Saddle+? on certain claws and saddles so it takes awhile.

  • So they didn’t call it Horsebird Dungeon 2?

I wish all these ended up coming over. Kind of depressing that it doesn’t happen often.
