Square Enix And Disney Team Up For Another Game

By Spencer . October 15, 2010 . 1:12am

imageKingdom Hearts was apparently the start of Square Enix and Disney collaborations. Disney lent key characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck to Square Enix so they could create Puzzle Bobble: Disney Edition.

This mobile phone game is basically Puzzle Bobble, better known as Bust-a-Move in North America, with Disney characters replacing the Bubble Bobble dinosaurs. There are six characters in the game: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Marie, and Stitch. Don’t be so surprised about Stitch, Japan loves that rascally alien.

Puzzle Bobble: Disney Edition is available on mobile phones for 315 yen ($4).

  • I …. like it its … cute XD ! too bad i dont have mobile to play it :P !

  • I’d forgotten Square-Enix owns Taito now. I wish they’d release all the Bubble and Puzzle Bobble games in one big collection. Well, maybe two collections seeing as how many PB games there are…

Woah Disney characters can’t possibly be this cute… portable?

I remember when I was in Japan, I saw that style (and the classic style) for Disney characters a lot. But I don’t think I usually see it on our Disney products here (not that I go into our Disney store anymore, considering the direction it’s taken…). Do we have products or anything with that style?

And this game is cute. It makes me want another Bubble Bobble game, but I want to try this.

Reminds me that I need to pick up a Bust-a-Move game, it’s been awhile since I’ve played one. Nostalgia~
