Thinking about picking up Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage at launch? Might want to give Gamestop a look. They’re giving out DLC to let players use Heart who is resistant to many attacks because of his humongous build.

Heart’s DLC code also includes two extra scenarios. One scenario is packed with five bosses and exploding barrels. The other has players fight in a wasteland where food is scarce. If you want to complete this level you have to control the food supply.

Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage comes out on November 2.

Played the demo. Won’t be purchasing FotNS. Just another terrible game based off one of my favorite series. Way to go Koei.

Too bad God Hand was never available for PC. Would have loved to see a fan hack of the FotNS with that gameplay.

I have the import and I can say the demo was kinda weak compared to the final game due to lack of skill tree and Kenshiro not having all his upgraded moves plus only fighting Jagi so at least rent it to see the full game and all it has to offer. My import disc broke (maybe Kenshiro’s digital fists cracked it) so I’ll be getting this

  • No DLC Achievements PLZ

    • Don’t worry, there aren’t DLC-related achievements.

Also, Amazon’s pre-order bonus is the Outlaw character with 1 extra mission.

  • Played the demo, expecting another awful Dynasty Warriors clone. You know, I had a great time. I actually want to play more of this. I have never seen the anime, though. I’m debating on whether or not to watch that and then buy the game, now. I normally hate DW and it’s copies (Sengoku Basara is awful, for example), but this was really, really fun.

You could start off by watching a few episodes on Youtube or some of the newer OVA’s because the game seems to assume you know most of the story already since it’s not a complete recreation of the first arc. It’s a great story though.

I agree (even though I happen to like DW), I thought this was going to be awful but after about 3 min I was having a blast. The source material really helps and the one liners are both bad ass and ridiculous at the same time. “You are already dead” and “These fists have seen more then you can imagine” are my favs.

I never knew much about the manga or the anime either, sure I knew it existed and knew the main character but never got into it beyond that. I definitely need to check out the series now (and pick up the blu-ray movie). Its pretty crazy, like a Berserk and Street Fighter cross over.

      • You know, I can’t help but wish that there was a special edition that came with a Blu-Ray of the anime.

    • I’m shocked and stunned, you actually liked this/a game! It is a great game, I hope to pick this up in the future!

      • Why are you surprised I liked a game? I’ve spoken positively about a few games on here before. I think you can find me raving about how much I loved the Vanquish demo (and am loving the full game even more), if you want to talk recent examples. I guess it’s that I usually keep quiet if I don’t have anything in particular to say about a game.

I will be picking this game up (PS3) but think I will pass on this DLC. Fat shirtless guy with a semi wedgie, when 90% of the time your looking at his back not appealing, lol.

I’m impressed. Nobody has quoted the show yet.

On another note, the demo was okay to me. I was so glad when I tried the other character (Rei or something?) and it was an actual beat-em-up segment, as opposed to the other option where you’re fighting one-on-one as Kenshiro.

Still, it didn’t seem like a polished game to me. It might be on par with other Dynasty Warriors games, but the las DW I played was back during the PS2 launch ten years ago.
