Summon Yourself For An Attack In SaGa 3

By Spencer . October 22, 2010 . 5:07pm

SaGa 3 Ruler of Space-Time: Shadow or Light has a new element called the Times Gear. In addition to activating the scenario synchro system, the Times Gear has various gear drive attacks in battle.

Use a "present" gear drive to activate a Persona style all-out attack. The "past" gear drive has a different trick, it allows players to replay an attack. So, if you time a powerful attack right you can use it twice with the past gear.

Just like Final Fantasy Legends III, the ship can attack too by opening battles with a laser blast.

  • I. Just. Cant. Those are the screens? Its like a blast from the ye olde past! It doesnt look nor sound hot at all. Its like the graphics and art department had their budgets exponentially reduced and threw together the lamest looking textures and character models, just plain murky. The synchro attack had so much potential but failed in execution. It looked just downright dull and dirty. A voice dubbed track or epic storyline would be this games saving grace and I have severe doubts that either are up to the bar I have set for this game. Clearly, this video and accompanying images show that time could have been better spent making some new, innovative, eclectic game than remaking some olde relic from ancient times.

I wish SaGa 2 and this one, made its way to the US..i’d so buy them.

    • Considering FFL3 made it stateside, there’s always a chance.

But that’s also assuming Squeenix is smart. They’d make a killing on this if they released it over here.

      • They’d make a killing on this if they released it over here.I’d love to own this in English, don’t get me wrong, but I really don’t see how this could be true at all. SaGa has a cult following in the US if I’ve ever seen one, and based on their handing-off of DQIX and view of 250k+ copies of CT DS as a failure, Square-Enix’s goalposts for sales success have moved way out of that following’s reach.

        • Beg to differ. Old enough and has Final Fantasy in the tag. People know what the original was.

But I digress. Even in the general sense, it still would make a decent mark.
