Name Your Team Anything, Even (゚∀゚), In Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

By Spencer . October 26, 2010 . 3:49pm

Over on the Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together twitter account, a member of the staff mentioned how the Japanese version allows players to input hiragana, katakana, kanji, alphabet, and symbols. As example, they named their team an emoticon.

Oh, team hugging face, that’s your name?

Also on Twitter, it was mentioned Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together has a 1350KB save file.

Whats with the (゚∀゚) jokes/posts Spencer? Did I miss something?…….

    • Ereek

Well, the other one was from Ishaan, not Spencer.

Not a big fan of them myself, simply because they’re so overused, but I don’t like emoticons in English, either.

      • Aarachnid Malik Davolcanese

Why would your opinions on emoticons ever change with any language? No matter what they’re still emoticons

        • WildArms

yeah but japanese’s emoricons are of those kind of things ~~ etc, while with us is more like… xD, =D, :3, O_o, and so on…

          • glemtvapen

            The Japanese love Kirby.

        Pretty much this!

I snickered a little bit when I saw this from the Tactics Ogre twitter account and it was kinda interesting that they used an emoticon to demo the game’s character input feature.

        • thebanditking

so there was really nothing to it at all, OK.

    • WildArms

Well, in this occasion, the (゚∀゚) thing comes from Tactics ogre team xD

the funny thing is the face of the dude (denim?) when he says it xD

This games gets more interesting with the more articles I see of it.

Ever since Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red, I always name my team, Team Go Getters, lol. I just love the way it sounds and it is so positive. Though maybe I will name it Team 7…

    Team Sexual Chocolate, ftw

Too bad the more unusual stuff will most likely be stripped from the US version in favor of a scant few standard punctuation marks. I rarely use them anyway, but it’d be nice to have the option.

  • Exkaiser

Is there a default name? I didn’t really play much of the original Tactics Ogre.

If there’s a default name, Like ZEUTH or Alpha Numbers or Waerter or whatever, I tend to leave it be. Otherwise, I’ll probably go with Aletheia, which is kind of my default since Etrian Odyssey II.

    • kupomogli

The default name depends on your birthday. I usually use Narshe as my team name.

  • goronyan

well japanese language is usually encoded using double-byte character codes so some inputs options in japanese games allows this feature.
the same goes to Monster Hunter 2g guild card (*´Д`)ハァハァ

  • doubletaco

    Team キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!!!!! rolling out.

    ( ゚∀゚)o彡゜おっぱい!おっぱい!

Unfortunately, that won’t fit in an 8-character limit.
So I guess ( ゚∀゚)o彡゜ will have to do.

    • neocatzon

      prefer this one
      , , ∩
      ( ゚∀゚)彡 えーりん!えーりん!
      though won’t fit
