G.Rev’s Next Shooter Is For Xbox Live Arcade

By Spencer . October 28, 2010 . 4:31pm

Senko no Ronde developer G.Rev is skipping stores and going digital for Seisou Kouki Strania. Unlike other G.Rev games, this isn’t a port. Seisou Kouki Strania is built ground up for Xbox Live Arcade.

The concept of the game is a 1980s style arcade shooter with an anime style robots.

Seisou Kouki Strania lets players carry up to three weapons. In addition to laser cannons, you can use close range weapons like a sword. Each weapon is effective against a different type of enemy so switching them is an important part of the game. G.rev’s game supports cooperative play offline and online through Xbox Live.

Seisou Kouki Strania is slated for release sometime in 2011. An international release has not been announced at this time, but all XBLA games so far have been released in North America.

  • Another week and yet another Xbox 360 exclusive shooter; this makes it seem liek xbots are only good and interested in games that involving “shooting.”

    • Jealous PS3 owner?

      • LOL, Im just saiyan, it would be nice if they would bring some shooters to the PS3. In my time on this site, I think last week was the first time I saw a post about a shooter coming to the PS3.

Everyone knows the DualShock 3 is the best controller for these games. So its shocking to not see many for it.

        • Sorry dude, the Saturn pad is much better than the DualShock for shmups. Everyone knows that (everyone knows how terrible the Xbox 360 controller’s d-pad is, though, I’ll give you that).

On topic: the game looks crazy awesome. If only I had time to play games, I’d get a 360…

I use the arcade stick but if not I have no prob playing w/ the 360’s analog stick, I thought it has more resistance and more fit to move the ship than DS3’s loose stick. How did people play Ikaruga on the Gamecube anyway? Because the analog stick just didn’t work and the d-pad might as well not be there. That’s why I much prefer playing Castle of Shikigami 3 on 360 than the Wii ver. I wonder how is the new silver controller w/ the revamped d-pad would be though.

And come on people, the 360 is the de facto platform for visual novels, shmups, etc this gen, just like PS2 was the platform for JRPGs, keep complaining isn’t going to change.. one would just need to buy a certain system for some games..

Is Castle Shikigami 3’s dialogue anywhere as hilariously corny and atrociously dubbed as 2’s?

          • Aoshi00

It’s much better, but still bad. The Jpn dub was actually kind of campy and over the top too, so I guess the corniness is intentional in 3 and they were just following the original dub. Both dubs are funny and campy to listen to though. Too bad the US ver. was only released on the Wii in SD and not in widescreen, and none of the controllers worked for me (classic, GC, or remote sideways).

    • Another second, another completely pointless comment from you.

guys, try not to feed the troll

Pretty cool title.. I’ve liked what G Rev has done so far w/ Senko, Duo, and Mamoru-kun. This looks promising too. I hope they would have an easy mode (less crazy mode) to ease us in for those who don’t have superhuman skills and godlike reflexes.

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Seems like it’s got some of the more interesting level-designs in a shmup than I’ve seen in a while. The presentation with all the cinematic angle changes is a nice touch.

  • Code

    rar, this isn’t Senko omo~!! But I’m still okay with it after all more shmups is always good in my books! rar, ever since finally getting my J360 and DUO, I’ve been on cloud nine >ww<;

Yo G.Rev, imma let you finish this game, but first I wanna know what happened to that Under Defeat for XBLA.

  • Sweet. Am I the only one who got an Einhander vibe from the trailer?

  • So, the game will be released internationally after all. G.rev have confirmed it on their website: http://www.grev.co.jp/str/

    100% bought!!!
