    YESSSSS!!!
I’m Very Happy Now !! Time to relax :)

I voted on Sensei Haruki Suetsugu’s one , i guess this one is ok too .

  • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

yay i voted for that one, she had the “megaman legends” feeling the most

  • Feynman

    1. It’s a pity that Suetsugu’s design lost. It would have been absolutely perfect for the game, and nails the 90′s anime aesthetic spot-on.

    2. It’s a travesty that Yoshikawa’s entry made 3rd place, as it should have been dead last… that a character so obviously designed to appeal to the creepiest of otaku actually managed a respectable showing is pretty terrifying.

“1. It’s a pity that Suetsugu’s design lost. It would have been absolutely perfect for the game, and nails the 90′s anime aesthetic spot-on.”

That’s exactly what I liked about his design and why I voted for it. It has an old-school feel to it.

    • http://honorless.net honorless

Agreed on both points. I don’t know what the hell Yoshikawa was thinking, because normally his designs (and drawings, even) are far better.

…I’m gonna pretend he didn’t actually want to participate, so he just phoned it in with something ridiculous.

    • Judo

I fully agree on both points. I still hope that Suetsugu’s design makes it into the game in one form or another.

    • Code

It really is a damn shame Suetsugu’s design didn’t win, god when I saw that design I had so much nostalgia for Breath of Fire 4, but yeah definitely should have won omo; Although I kind of wanted to see Higurashi, Ishikawa (if it maybe swapped to poka-dot print), or Nakayama designs place better/ or win too, BUT I feel Suetsugu’s does the best capturing the feeling of the series.I think Komaki will kind of need to bring out some more personality in his character, most of these characters you can read some personality into but I felt his was a bit bland in that respect.7th, 8th and 9th place though I think are pretty fair and just, I felt they were all very much wasted potential, they didn’t have the quality I’d expect.Yoshikawa — definitely agree with you Feynman, though I feel like Nakayama’s is kind of in the same boat too (although I still like the design regardless).

    • kylehyde

80% agree in your first point.

I mean I liked his design, but my favorite was the Higurashi’s design (which unfortunately end in fifth place), but of the top 3, Suetsugu was the one that I liked more and of those, the one that deseved the frst place

and 100000000% agree in your second point

Seriously I don’t know where Yoshikawa’s entry get so many votes, easily was the worst of all the designs, also, it looks more like an skinny dude than a girl.

      • Code

“Seriously I don’t know where Yoshikawa’s entry get so many votes, easily was the worst of all the designs, also, it looks more like an skinny dude than a girl.”Maybe that was suppose to be the surprise twist!

        • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

          ^_^
          But then I was like…
          o_o’
          O_O’
          =_=’
          >_<'

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

You have most excellent taste, sir.

    • SolidusSnake

As one of the creepiest otaku I take offense to that; Yoshikawa’s design is hideous and a complete turn off. Nakayama’s, on the other hand…

    • glemtvapen

I like Yoshikawa’s, but I guess it was just too original.

Though I prefer Suetsugu’s over Komaki’s. Komaki’s design just screams “typical”

  • http://twitter.com/Paradox_me Paradox me

Higurashi’s was my favorite, but Komaki’s isn’t bad at all. Toru Nakayama’s would have been neat too.

  • Tom_Phoenix

YEY! I was hoping for the Komaki design to win. =) It fits the game perfectly.

  • AdamBoy64

Inafune’s was last… that is actually.. very interesting.
    Could be quite telling.

  • http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=2704923 Buntar0

Well, all of these 3 are nice. What I don’t like about the winning character is how overloaded she looks. I like character designs best that are so simple that a kid can draw them.

Edit: My eyes must have been blurry. Yoshikawa’s character doesn’t wear anything aside from a thin bra under that coat. Why not give here a white shirt? Doesn’t fit the universe imo (Tron is already pushing the limits)

  • joesz

I also voted for the first one, since she really fits and blend in with the megaman legend’s world.

But looking at this again. I realized that the 2nd and the 3rd should have won as well.they deserve to be in it.

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

      DLC.

  • http://www.facebook.com/faisal.jassim Faisal Jassim

And Now Inafune’s Quitting…. Did he wait to see if Fans would appreciate his design or not, Or does that explain why His is so bad that could be done by anyone in 20-30 Minutes?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1472407455 Charles Lupula

He’s probably quitting because he can’t stand working for a Japanese company. I am so glad he’s gone with his ridiculous pandering to the West. I hope they bring in someone who actually appreciates the tradition that Capcom used to bring.

      • http://www.facebook.com/faisal.jassim Faisal Jassim

I wish That what You’re saying is right..

    • [The Hunter] Doomrider

According to a 4gamer interview, he doesn’t feel joy anymore when making games, and he can’t stand his job.

Oh well, he really dug himself in a hole, criticizing people left and right with nothing to show for it. Sensationalist remarks, really.

      Whatever, I won’t miss him.

      • http://honorless.net honorless

It’s unfortunate because of what he used to be…but yeah I think this is best.

Hopefully he’ll gain a little perspective doing whatever he ends up doing from now on…or at least no one will interview him at TGS 2011 so he can’t help perpetuate the “JAPANESE GAMING ARE DEAD” meme.

        • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Even though I’m not a Megaman fan (I like some of the games, but I’m not really a fan), which is arguably his greatest creation, I know that this must be a big deal to all his fans and I’m aware that he has done a LOT in Capcom. Really a lot.

He has his reasons, but I can’t sympathize with him.

But I agree with you, maybe this will help give him some perspective.

  • papuruka

Dammit, I wanted Yoshikawa’s design to win so badly :

  • Raidou

The 3D dot version looks like Ramona Flowers.

  • http://twitter.com/manasteel88 Mana

the winner looks like a pokemon trainer. I personally voted for Kazushi Itou’s design because I thought it fit more with that style of the original MML, but Sensei’s would have been my second pick. The character has that same Japanese take on native americans that Rock has from Soul Calibur. I think that’s kind of cool that Rock Man would have a character like that.

  • shion16

    buuuuuuu

  • http://twitter.com/matty_125 matty

Ah, maybe Suetsugu’s feather girl will be an NPC at least or a playable DLC later on.
    So much potential here!

  • PersonaBull

I voted for Itou’s design. At least my second pick won, eh?

  • gatotsu911

Ew. I thought Komaki’s design was by far the blandest of the bunch; I’m not sure what people see in it. I actually liked Yoshikawa’s design, though, and this is coming from a certified moe-hater.

  • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

    D’awwww… Suetsugu’s design is adorable.

  • Chow

The winner the one I actually tried to vote for (but I needed an account or something). The second place winner I kept on hearing praises about… and I don’t even remember the third place winner, though I actually like that one a lot.

    …lots of goggles, wtf

  • http://pto.yetikitn.com MelodyKitn

For some reason, the winner reminds me of her:

  • countupyoursins

Blah. I wanted Sensei to win. I can’t recall anything with flame designs looking good. Oh, well. Honestly never played a Legends game, so no real loss for me; I only voted for the character design I liked best.

  • Tokyo Guy

IIRC this was the contest where you had to vote on the designer’s submissions? Why couldn’t Capcom have allowed fans to submit their designs, as it did with some of the Famicom games.

  • Joanna

Haven’t played Legends, but I thought Kaji’s design was the best: simple yet nice, plus cute helmet~

I guess not many share my preference since she came in 8th place. :(

  • MarkMario

    Revote kgo,
    I dun like it Φ_Φ
