Not sure why Vincent has lamb horns on his head? Atlus doesn’t explain that bit quite yet, but they set up Catherine’s story. Here’s how Vincent gets to the point in his life where he’s running away from a bloody baby with chainsaw arms.

In Vincent’s neighborhood, a man who went to sleep was found dead with an agonizing stare. This bizarre incident continued to occur, but only with young men as victims. A rumor started that if you’re falling in a dream and you don’t wake up you die.

Meanwhile, Vincent goes to a bar to meet his lover of five years, Katherine. "As it is now," Vincent thinks, "life is good." His lover hints at marriage. Vincent trembles and is unable to answer. Suddenly, a mysterious beauty appears. There are plenty of empty seats at the bar, but she chooses to sit next Vincent. Her proportions are alluring, she lures Vincent in by pressing up against him. She’s "his" type. Vincent leaves and makes a mistake that one night…

    sounds more interesting.dreams are awesome! last night I dreamt about an alien(from the alien movie franchise) invasion at my old elementary school in the night.It was a blast! the screaming all around the rooms and corridors,too many alien killing people.all I remember that I abandoned everyone and went to the music class room and hid there,good thing I woke up before getting killed by the one who came crushing from the window.

        Too late, the chestburster alrdy burrowed deep inside, but that would continue on another night lol.. Man, I want the Alien collection on blu-ray.. I think I’ve had my share of being chased by killers in my dreams too, the experience feels very long, good thing I wake up before I meet my maker. This sounds so American Psycho.. I hope YesAsia would have this on their site soon.. I love the jazzy and scary piano music, and the grade-A seiyuu cast.

          Haha, I know the feeling. I have nightmares every night, and when you escape one night only to go back and repeat the entire thing (or worse, carry on) the next, it’s pretty rough. Killer chases are terrifying. =P

          (But then, I’m a pansy, and we’re not generally renowned for our ballsy demeanour. =D)

          And yeah, I completely agree. The quicker it becomes accessible, the better. It’s going to be one helluva ride. =D

      I dreamed about Persona 3 for some reason, like I was actually in the game and was the main character. lol.

      Sometimes its good to write down your dreams. Who knows… maybe someday you’ll have the chance to turn them into games or movies.

        lol~ as I said I didn’t die yet. he crushed through the fence protected window(how did he do that?) and I intentionally woke up myself because I was scared… and I think he was calling for back up because I saw him waving his hand out from the window.so if there’s a high probability that I could have it today again then I have some conditions that must be met.I want some sidekicks, #1 madonna, #2 dwayne johnson, 3#brad pitt and angelina jolie’s whole family.

          Getting exactly what you want in dreams is pretty hard… if I could do that I’d play games less and sleep more. That and I can never lucid dream.

            Lucid dreaming is pretty freaky. I had one experience of it and it was pretty weird knowing I was dreaming. Usually when I realize I am dreaming, I instantly wake up.

    Man I’m starting to get psyched about this game! There’s not any upcoming games that scream unique like this one. Atlus USA should hurry up and announce a date already.

      Why? After announcing a date, it isnt like its going to feel like its coming much faster. In fact it may even feel longer.

        I don’t. My mind stores every bit of canon it can on any game, movie, book, or tv show that I may be interested in, whether I want it to or not.

        Not just look. It sounds awesome.

        From everything i’ve read, it feels as though I’ve not exactly spoiled myself anything other then the premise of the game. And honestly, I find it refreshing as well…

        Oh, I can’t wait to see how this plays either. I wonder if it’ll have any similarities to Atlus’ other survival horror title: Dark Messiah (or Hellnight for the UK. No, it never made it to the US.)

    The big question being:
    How did anyone know what those guys were dreaming if they died in their sleep and couldn’t tell anyone about it?

      Isn’t that a little like the first Pirates of the Carribean? How do you know how it goes if no one lives to tell it?

      Although maybe it’s a sequence of dreams where you’re falling and each one leaves you feeling closer to death when you wake up? I suppose if someone died after sharing that with someone, the results would become a rumor? But maybe it gets a proper explanation in the game.

          Hopefully (okay, we know they will) Atlus will invoke that feeling out of us in Catherine when we learn more of the rumors and progress through everything. (Admittedly, that chainsaw-armed baby creeps me the heck out already.)

            Your idea of waking up continuously closer to death is true horror. ^_T
            I don’t know if Atlus is going to embrace something that’s so psychologically taxing, but I hope so. The macabre baby, on the other hand, is likely a good taste of the more straight forward side of the horror.

            Hehe, I remember two experiences after horrid dreams where I had this odd, deathly feeling, so that definitely had a part in the idea.

            And that’s true. I think they sometimes do to an extent if it’s anything SMT related or themed (this feels like a cousin to SMT to me), but they are definitely investing in straight forward horror already too (very effective horror at that), so I’m glad that’s covered. Lets hope for some fun, thrilling psychological horror aspects too!

        Why at least you have pretty nice weather year round, surely thats a plus to living there. The state is, er, too liberal/nontraditional for me.

          Yeah. The weather is comparatively nice. It’s actually obnoxious where I am, but my friend in the bay is getting wonderful weather.
          Hehe, we are a little… different. But honestly, I don’t know what to say about us anymore. (I wish the Doucheinator would get out of office at least.)

    I want to play this game, it sounds so original and all, but all this info… It’s not cutting it for me. This game just begs for you to become immersed in the story, and that’s not possible with just… this. What I mean is that this isn’t getting me hyped for the game at all, unfortunately.

    Come out already, I wanna play the hell out of you!

    I’m a little curious about the quotes around ‘his.’ I took a look at the original Japanese, and though my skills are rusty and never were great in the first place, I can see clearly that it has quotes around the word there. I’ve never been one for cryptic clues, but the game may very well be afoot. Does somebody with better Japanese want to chime in by any chance?

And he leaves his girlfriend at the bar for a one night stand with Catherine? ….that’s pretty high on the douchebag scale. I mean, cheating isn’t the nicest thing, but doing it right in front of your current lover is much much worse.

    I don’t know how I’m going to relate to Vincent now….

    Edit: One last thing. In the second picture, the one with a split between Catherine and Katerine drawing. The male sign is on Katherine’s side, while the female sign on Catherine’s. I wonder what that could mean….

      I think there’s a bit of a surreal, dream-like warping transition where he’s suddenly transported to a version of the bar with only him and Catherine in it.

      No actually, terrible. Why did you do that? Katherine is a tranny? Nooo my innocent mind!… :P
