Ragnarok Online is going online everywhere. GungHo announced a mobile phone version of Raganarok Online for Android phones.

Ragnarok Online: Mobile Story, like the PC game, is a free to play MMORPG. Unlike the Nintendo DS game also developed by GungHo, this game is a mobile MMO. The developer also announced 3D support for Softbank’s new line up of Galapagos phones.

Service for Raganarok Online: Mobile Story is scheduled to go live in March.

  • somehow i can imagine that half the passengers on a crowded train or bus will play this on their mobile phones.

  • Oh wow. I would play that if it made it to the U.S.

    • I’m not much of a RO fan but the concept of a mobile MMO has always intrigued me. To bad typing is a mess with the on screen keyboard…

      • Depending on the Android phone in question, you probably could use the built-in sliding phone.

      • Not all Android phones have touch screens. ;D

That’s the advantage of not being an Apple product.

        • Well mine does, hence the comment.

Thats Pretty cool. I just got an HTC EVO android phone. This looks like one of the few things id actually get assuming it actually makes it stateside.

  • “Ragnarok Online: Mobile Story, like the PC game, is a free to play MMORPG.”

… what? When did Ragnarok Online go free-to-play?

    • When they introduced the F2P Valkyrie server i guess, but there are still “premium” servers. Also what the hell happened to IRO? The new site its just…different

    • Sometime in the last year or so. Valkyrie servers are the F2P ones, Loki/Chaos/Lydia/etc. are now Premium servers.

  • Now we need a Facebook Ragnarok Online.

  • Code

Wait a minute how long has Ragnarok Online been free to play o_o?? This is news to me surprisingly, when I played a few summers back the official version at least was still P2P.

man this game stole 3 years of my life

That’s actually a pretty good idea. I don’t have a cell phone that supports the service, but I can see this becoming really big…not RO per se but MMOs on phones.
