Michael Jackson’s Experience On DS Is A Lot Like Elite Beat Agents

By Spencer . November 7, 2010 . 10:32pm

On PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Michael Jackson: The Experience is a dancing/karaoke game. On the Nintendo DS it’s, well, Elite Beat Agents with the King of Pop instead of cheerleaders or dancing secret agents.

Ubisoft’s game mimics Inis’ right down to MJ popping up after a successful combo. Inis should be… honored?

Wouldn’t be the first game to copy Inus’s amazing gameplay >w<' rar, love Ouendan/EBA~! Now the real question, is Micheal Jackson going to leap down from a helicopter and save the day?

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Naw, the Elite Beat Agents owe it to Michael because he is the original Elite Beat It Agent.

    EDIT: Where’s Thriller?

  • That actually makes me inclined to pick it up… grabbed EBA a while ago then grabbed Ouendan 1 and 2 when I visited Japan because I loved it so much. The songs are good (in my opinion, haha), the gameplay must be solid… if it isn’t too janky I might give it a go.

Holy hell, right down to the spinners! I can’t help wonder if someone at iNiS is kicking himself over an unfiled patent right now.

    • Happy Feet (and a few other DS games) has similar gameplay to what iNiS did with their games.
I don’t know about a patent, but iNiS certainly made three fantastic games that I don’t think anyone has come close with in this field!

Also, they had Jackson already! (Elite Beat Agents has The Jackson 5’s “ABC” as an unlockable song)

He looks lonely up there. Why no back-up dancers?

  • MemeticRichard

Lol, I dunno why…but this reminds me of…Hazama: You’ve been hit by… you’ve been struck by… a Smooth Criminal!*and then…*Terumi: Cause this is thriiiilleeer, thrillleeer niiight!

    Wow. I can’t.

  • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

I wish they would just make another EBA game. Wikipedia says they only sold 2/3 as many copies as expected, though. I guess it was another game where critical acclaim didn’t yield enough sales :(

    • Exkaiser

They haven’t even made an Ouendan 3… Isn’t it sad.

      • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

I wonder how well Ouendan 2 sold. I imported it and liked it, and I didn’t even know any of the songs!

      • Code

Yeah I’ve been wondering this too actually T_T It was so good, both games were. I think I had imported around 5 copies, there was that much local interest in it x_x’

      • I still haven’t gotten Ouendan 2 yet. SMH

  • I will not support anything affiliated with MJ after what’s going on today. How could they release a song that’s not even him?
