Doujin publisher Rockin’ Android announced they’re bring Crescent Pale Mist to PlayStation 3, a port we’re not too surprised to hear about.

Crescent Pale Mist isn’t a shooter it’s a side-scroller where Yunou slashes through enemies. Boss battles have a bit of a maniac shooter feel to them where you’re throwing daggers and dodging bullet patterns.

ClassiC Shikoukairo’s game is coming out to consoles with a few key features like English-localized text handled by Rockin’ Android. Crescent Pale Mist also has online leaderboards, eleven trophies to claim, and enhanced graphics. One thing that may surprise you is the game’s price. Crescent Pale Mist costs as much as a PsOne Classic at $5.99.

I’ve never heard of this but I do like I what I see. Really, for $5.99 I love what I see.

  • Shuryou

Any idea if there’ll be a demo of it?

    • godmars

If its only $6? May well just go on Youtube to see if you like it.

Not wait, there’s a video right there.

  • https://twitter.com/#!/SplashdownTiger STiger

Naw, they said there wouldn’t be a demo on the U.S. PlayStation blog about the game.

EDIT: lol wow reply fail, i was trying to reply to shuryou

Wow this game looks splendid and its for much lower cost than I imagined. I cant wait to get it.

  • neocatzon

it’s time to lurk some doujin games..
damn, some of them are more satisfying than commercial games

  • JustaGenericUser

Well, too bad I’m broke, I only have a few bucks on my acc–”Crescent Pale Mist costs as much as a PsOne Classic at $5.99.”Holy shipwreck!

EDIT: I really hope this game sells well, at least enough for the devs and Rockin’ Android. If a low price tag of $5.99 doesn’t sell a doujin game, nothing will.

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

$5.99 is really a bargain for a PSN game, Im just shocked it wasnt priced in the $14.99 or higher range.

Wow, this looks awesome! I’ll be buying this tomorrow! =)

  • http://twitter.com/The_9th_Sage Ian Chamberlin

I wish it was coming out on PC too (wasn’t the game released on PC originally?).

    Awesome

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

      Only 9000%?

  • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Looks a bit rough, but fun!BTW, what’s up with the lack of Malicious coverage on Siliconera? That game is something else.

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

I heard so much positive about it [Malicious], is it trully that good?

      • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Oh yeah. Amazing graphics, responsive controls, fluid gameplay and great soundtrack (really great). What is so incredible, is the fact that they’re only asking 800 yen for such a polished product. You have 6 stages, which are basically arenas in which there are endless normal enemies, and a boss. As you defeat the bosses, you get weapons based on their own and upgrades to existent abilities. Each boss has one or two attacks in which you can use counter moves, which make for small cinematic scenes of you pounding the boss. It’s a nice touch. You can beat the stages in any order you like and you get a score after each stage. People say that the bosses get more difficult the more stages you beat, but I haven’t really felt that. So, you can finish the game in 2/3 hours, but it’s got a lot of replayability. After beating it once, you unlock free mode. In this mode, you keep all weapons and abilities, and you can also do Time Attack and get your time on online leaderboards. So, why haven’t you bought it yet?(Just kidding)

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, the lock on/camera sucks a bit, but it doesn’t ruin the game in any way.

        • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

Oh cool! I will look out and hope it gets a English release! It sounds incredible!

          • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Alvion said they are looking into an English release, maybe they’ll manage to do something about it! If they don’t, I recommend the game just the same.

The story is not important, so it doesn’t require you to know Japanese at all. Remember that if it doesn’t get released outside of Japan!

        • Christian Wright

is there a trick to beating the last boss?

          • [The Hunter] Doomrider

            Strategy spoiler:

There all all these orbs around him, right? Get inside them, attack them until they all turn yellow.

Then, you will be able to attack those green things attached to the boss. Each time you destroy one, the big monster opens its mouth and shows the real Malicious.

Attack it until it’s dead. When the monster closes its mouth, just destroy another one of those green things and it will open again. That’s it!

      • goronyan

it’s awesome, a must have title.the most impressive thing is that it only cost 800 yen !!!

  • SupaPhly

as long as it’s better than the gundemonium collection

    • http://twitter.com/colonelxanders Alex Sargeant

What did you think was bad about Gundemonium? I mean they weren’t fantastic (I much prefer Engage to Jabberwock, when RA get around to that) but they are somewhat older games and I had an awful lot of fun with all three of them.

I probably have enough of my US account to pick this up tomorrow, and I will certainly do so.

      • Neckbear

Indeed, the games in the Gundemonium Collection were fun for what they were, Doujin Bullethells.

I had my fun with them, although they weren’t amazing, and this one seems like it’ll be fun, as well. Thus, you got my money, Rockin’ Android.

      • SupaPhly

I’m not exactly sure why I don’t like those games, but i’ll try explain. I think it lacks a certain distinctive quality that would make it different from playing other doujin bullethells. though I sort-of liked hitogata happa, the other two games were bland.
but maybe it’s just me because I’ve been spoiled by many good doujin shmups, so that’s why I think about these games like this.
but the game in this article looks interesting though.

Personally, I’d be happy if I had half as much fun with this as I did with the Gundemonium Collection.

  • Neckbear

Oh, I’m SO picking this up!

On a side-note, I’d like to see more Doujin games on PSN. I mean, I played Recettear with my Dualshock3 hooked up on my PC, and I think these kind of games are more suited for PSN and Xbox Live.

  • glemtvapen

This one looks adrenaline crazy and a bargain to boot.
But why does it in all majority of doujin games you play as a chick?

    • SolidusSnake

One could just as easily ask why you play as a beefed-up space marine in a majority of commercial (western) games :S

    • JustaGenericUser

Because the bald space marines are turning young boys gay, so we have chick protagonists on the east side to them back into the light before humanity dies out.

      Why else?
