Effects Of A Soldier Smashing Dynasty Warriors 7 Variable Attack

By Spencer . November 11, 2010 . 4:29pm

Dynasty Warriors 7 has a new move dubbed variable attack in Japan. This lets players switch weapons on the battlefield, even in the middle of a charge attack. These screenshots show the aftermath of a sword charge attack…

Dynasty Warriors 7 also has a double musou bar so players can execute two powerful musou attacks back to back. That’s what Xiahou Yuan is doing below. Tecmo Koei added a fourth faction to the game, Jin, which Zhuge Dan (3rd screen) is part of.

I hope they improve gameplay. Enemies that just standing around is kind of boring. Also, I hope they bring back the function that allow the player to have own troop.

    • lol that happens in all hack n’ slash games. Even in Sengoku Basara.. it just you kill them a bit before they get a chance to hit you. :P

I’ve always thought that the trouble lays in the fact that the entire battlefield is active. Meaning that their processing the AI throughout it all and amping up the aggressivity would probably cause greater uncontrollable chaos and shifting tides through the entire battle… Though, then again, that does seem interesting.

Really wish Chaos difficulty would equate more aggressive A.I.

Great news , now where’s JIANG WEI?! D:

    • I agree~ lol, I miss him.. and he’s even in Strikeforce 2. XD But he’ll be back~! They’re returning characters that they took out from 6. *LOVES Koei Warriors website for DW news*

This does look like a Dynasty Warriors proper evolution. Keep the entire cast, increase it, and update the battle system and the appearance.

I know it’s a continuous complaint from people that “they’re just minimal upgrades and it’s roughly the same game”, but the devil is in the details and this steady increase is never seen as faulted for other games similar to this one’s advancements such as all sports game and Final Fantasy battle systems.

        • I totally agree with you there. XD So what if DW and it’s spin offs are somewhat the same each game with new features and characters? All other games have done the same, but it doesn’t change the fact that if you give them a game with strong characters people will follow it.

To me, it looks like my wallet’s going to get emptied.

All I ask is to have unique movesets for all characters. Don’t want any clones like what happened with DW6.

    • They already said they’re going back to DW5 and prior games for movesets (since people get original weapons back too).. but with the fact that you can use whatever weapon as a secondary, there’s gonna be some cloned movesets.

      • Pichi

So like a mix of unique and clone sets? I guess that’s better than full on clones, but still. I would like to at least have a unique flair for the second weapon.

  • *fangirls~* Ling Tong~ <3 You have your nunchakus again!

    • Testsubject909

*fanboys* Xing Cai, you’re back and kicking asses again!

  • Yes, So I can get my Giant Sword Guan Ping Back! I may actually be interested in this. And it seems even the mooks got a graphical uplift.
