Meguro Remixed Over 100 Tracks For Persona 2: Innocent Sin

Meguro Remixed Over 100 Tracks For Persona 2: Innocent SinOn the Persona 2: Innocent Sin blog, composer/PSP version director Shoji Meguro discussed the game’s new music. He reflected on the decision of making Persona 1′s PSP soundtrack Persona 3 chic and decided to give players a choice between background music. As mentioned before, you can toggle between original and remixed music in Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

Meguro arranged over 100 tracks for the PSP version. While the differences for some songs may sound subtle, instruments that the PsOne’s cheap sound processor couldn’t handle were replaced. Meguro mentions swapping crude guitar tones for with sounds from the latest synthesizer. The only element Meguro apologizes for is not being able to implement a lovely end of battle them due to a clash of program resources.

Next time, Meguro says he’ll talk about the new opening video made by Macross Frontier studio Satelite and the difficulties of porting.

hopefully this will be release in the west :D

never played this game would love to if given a chance.

oh and remake also Eternal Punishment it never made it to the west.

    • Zeik56

Eternal Punishment did make it to the west, it was Innocent Sin that never made it over.

I can’t see any reason this won’t be localized. Fans have been clamoring for this to happen forever, there’s no chance they’re going to just pass it over.

What Zeik said. Also Eternal Punishment will be remade. Why do you think they came back with that bs line about how the UMD doesn’t have enough space to hold both games? They want to make more off selling both seperately.

Or what about Sora no Kiseki SC. The game is two UMD. They could have released both Persona 2 games in the same package. List it for $49.99 to cover the costs of the second UMD. I’ll be picking up both games, but I’ll wait until I can get them for $20 or less the way I got the original remake(premium version for $20.)

Very few would buy a PSP game at $49.99. Those that buy them at $39.99… are usually super hardcore fans.

I enjoy Meguro’s music. Though, I’ll have to admit I like the modern stuff more.

Too bad he couldn’t do that for P3P. The Battle theme in 3 was just so boring to me…unless he was the one who made it in the first place, to which I say “Boo, Meguro! BOO!”

    Babehbabehbabehbabeh ooooooooooooooooooSTFU!!!

    • http://twitter.com/ahadiscoelf Aha Disco Elf

      He made it.

Probably due to the UMD’s storage limit. They can easily add new and original track to psone remakes, since the original games only used less than 650 mb of the psone’s disc…

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000301072427 Mark Shaver

Yeah, I understand why. But P3p only used about 1.2 GB, so there was plenty of space.

I much preferred the Girl’s BGMs. I understand there was d to be a dreary feeling to the music, but it just made me bored. Maybe it’s because I played 4 first, but it just didn’t have pep to me. Too bad you can’t change the BGM’s like in Dissidia…

        • d19xx

Maybe, cutting down on development cost? I figured they redid most of the 3d models for the characters and bg for the p3p. Unlike P1 & 2, where they’ll just re-use the original sprites.

Anyway, I’m sure we’ll get another remake of p3p in the future… :D

          • Zeik56

Oh god, I hope not. If they remake P3 again I will lose all respect for Atlus. P3P was pushing it, but I can let it slide since the female path mixed it up just enough. Any more releases and they won’t be able to justify it for anything other than purely a cash-in.

        • Zeik56

If you thought P3′s music was “dreary” then P2 will likely make you go into full on depression…

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000301072427 Mark Shaver

What I meant by dreary was, well…Listen to P4′s Battle theme, then listen to P3′s…

          • Zeik56

I’ve heard both. P3′s battle theme isn’t even remotely close to what could be considered “dreary”.

You dont like Mass Destruction? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9r9TQA5dng ) or ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NDEOZzrSbc _How does it sound dreary or boring? I think I must prefer both over Reach out to the Truth, though it took awhile for the P3P music to grow on me. Don’t ease your paceCuz enemy is brutalMoment of truthThere ain’t no truceYou’re the only oneOne worldOne loveBut the battle goes onShadows of mass destruction
