The sale starts tomorrow, November 16, on North America’s PlayStation Store and runs until November 29.

  • Been waiting for a Kenka Bancho sale. Any thoughts on Hammering Hero and Riviera?

    • neo_firenze

Hammerin’ Hero is freaking great. It’s not too hard, but it’s charming as anything. I like to think of it as Prinny: Easy Edition. Great clean and colorful look. Beating thugs with a frozen fish is lots of fun (good to see that the lessons of Dynamite Deka 2 were not forgotten).

Rivera… eh… it’s a love/hate thing, as is often the case with Sting games. I’m not in the “love” camp. Though I will say that it’s much prettier than the GBA version, so it ends up being the definitive version of a divisive game. $7.49 isn’t a lot to figure our for yourself, it will either be an amazing deal or a complete waste depending on your perspective, but it’s not a huge risk.

      • Thanks for the info. Might as well take the risk on Riviera since its cheap.

  • is rtype command any good?

    • WizardoftheBlueOrder

That would REALLY depend on what you’re looking for. Are you looking for a hori shooter like the rest of the R-Type series? You would then have a very high likelihood of being disappointed.

Are you looking for a board-centered Turn-Based Strategy that uses units and concepts from R-Type? It may be closer to your taste.

20 bucks for persona!? Damn! :D I think I’ll get it.

  • This makes me doubly angry.

I’d totally want to get Persona 3 Portable– ESPECIALLY for $20, but. I neither have the viable funds to get it just yet due to Christmas coming up, and I don’t have the space on my memory stick to even get it. (I have around 38MB left on a 4GB stick.)

    oh Atlus you taunt meeee

    • Get a bigger stick. 8D

Hell, first thing I did when I got my PSP a year ago was buy an 8GB stick. Just last month I bought a 16GB stick for the same price my 8GB was.

  • Zonic505

Damn, P3P for $20? Ugh, so tempting, but I’ve already been spending so much on XBLA & Wii games….Maybe the day before the sale ends, so I can play it when I’m out of college for the month & waiting for Xmas.

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

“Droplitz, Atlus’ *one and only* digitally distributed PlayStation 3 game…”

That’s a fact that needs to become a lie. Make it happen, Atlus.

    • A retail release makes no sense financially… unless I completely misinterpreted what you meant.

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

No, I meant there needs to be more PS3N Atlus games, but I tried to get too creative with my wording.

        • This is why there’s a little device called the “PSP.”

          • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

That’s exactly what I don’t want. I no longer have a PSP, don’t want to get another, no longer have the time to game on the go, and would much rather get the whole enchilada at home on my TV when I’m not working.

  • EvilAkito

Kenka Bancho is pretty tempting. I usually prefer to buy the UMD releases, but they become hard to find so quickly.

  • malek86

P3P for $20 is indeed very tempting. But I don’t wish to buy another RPG right now. I have many already that need to be completed.

  • Code

    rar, first I run into a box of 95 bags of Fuzzy Peaches, and now this, I don’t think my paycheck is going to see Tuesday omo;

  • neo_firenze

I’m a bit sad to already own all of these. Feels like I’m missing out on an awesome deal. Still tempted to get the digital versions of the Persona games that I have on UMD, but I’ll probably be able to resist that ;)

  • YoFace

Can digital games from PSN be gifted? I would love to gift my friend P3P.

    • MGSBigBoss

Buy the PSN game from Amazon and then you can gift it to your friend.

  • Hmm don’t know if I should pick up the first persona, or Persona 3 Portable. I beat (and loved!) persona 3 back when it first came out, but I haven’t played the first persona. I liked persona 2 back in the day but I never tried the first since it apparently wasn’t that good, but the psp version claims to have cleaned it up a bit. Decisions…

    • PersonaBull

I’d say get Persona 3 Portable. It’s a very refreshing experience if you’ve played the original and brings a lot of new content.

That, and if you’re like me and are being a grumpy old dinosaur about digital media, you can get the first Persona on UMD at your local Gamestop for the same price of $20

  • BelmontHeir

Riviera: The Promised Land for $7.49 is a fucking steal. I love that game.

  • I was thinking of Hexyz Force or Crimson Gem Saga, though Im leaning more with Hexyz

    • SolidusSnake

Hexyz Force is a pretty solid jrpg, nothing super original, good nonetheless. FYI the female MC’s story is a tale of friendship.

      • malek86

Hexyz is ok, but I was really hoping for something more “unique”, since it’s Sting we’re talking about. It didn’t mantain my interest for too long.

  • Guest

If you’re not getting Kenka Bancho at that price you suck!

  • Chow

I approve of this sale. :]

Now I can keep my collector’s editions of certain games in wraps.

    • Testsubject909

*looks at his opened up Persona 2: Eternal Punishment*

Hmm… Yeah, it’s nice to wait till there are remakes to ensure that you didn’t need to open them up to experience the game.

But then, there’s also the gaming side of it… One’s gaming nature versus one’s collector’s nature.

  • cmurph666

I really want to buy the digital versions of Persona 1 and 3 but I already own the UMDs…

What to do, what to do…??!

    • Testsubject909

Me? I’m going to skip out on it. I need my money for other games at the moment, perhaps when I have more money I’ll get around to getting these. Probably when I get a PSP2 as well.

Oh and, if you do get P3P. Remember, don’t install. It’s already in your harddrive, so if you install, you actually sort of screw it up.

      • cmurph666

What do you mean don’t install…?

I currently have the UMD and I have it installed on my PSP Memory Card to reduce loading times.

    • Ladius

Imho it would be better to use the money to buy ZHP or the Ys games, if you haven’t already bought them. I don’t see the reason to buy both umd and digital copies of the same games, but maybe that’s only me :P

  • Yep, time to buckle down and grab P3 for the THIRD time. I might have to grab Kenka Bancho as well. If this thing last 2 weeks then I have PLENTY of time to grab a number of games off this list that I don’t already have.

  • JustaGenericUser

Just when I was thinking of buying Rune Factory 3 or Zettai Hero Project, this shows up. Darn it, publishers, you torture me.

    • PersonaBull

      Get both of those.

If you have money left over, enjoy the sale!

  • nyrjin

I’d love this if I didn’t buy ALMOST ALL OF ATLUS’ GAMES ON RELEASE!!!
Haha, oh well, It’s well enough worth it to support such an awesome company.
Actually I don’t have Riviera. The deed will be done!

  • I might just get Riviera even though I have the UMD. That game severely needed a data install option. So does Knights in the Nightmare.

  • Hm… Kenka Bancho… I had it once, but it seemed kind of repetitive. I did like the “pockets are your inventory space” aspect though.

  • been waiting for hours for the price cut.. but doesn’t see any price changes at all… what’s happening?
