Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 Joins Platinum Collection, Still Region Free

By Spencer . November 16, 2010 . 1:19pm

imageCave’s home version of Mushihime-sama Futari sold enough copies to join the Xbox 360 Platinum Collection in Japan. That means you can get Mushihime-sama Futari Ver. 1.5 for about half price, even if you have a US coded Xbox 360.

Play-Asia notes the much cheaper Platinum Collection version is region free.  It does not come with the Black Label downloadable content, though. That’s sold separately on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15).

Check back tomorrow because we have a treat for Cave fans…

A tip of the hat and giant beetle ride to Denpa no Sekai for the tip. Thanks!

I highly suggest people fork out the money for Black Label too, because it’s well worth it. I wonder if Espgaluda 2 could eventually join the Platinum series too. It would make importing it much easier on my wallet.”Check back tomorrow because we have a treat for Cave fans…”Oh, you’re such a tease.

    • Who knows; with Guwange already out on XBL I hope we see more cave.

  • Code

rar, hooray awesome >w< when I has the moneys look forward to importing this at a marginally reduced price, although seriously custom fees have literally been gorging me lately — I gotta try and hold off on imports for a little bit T_T' but any ways rar I'm a "Cave fan" I should check back tomorrow!

Hey Code, you’re Canadian right? I’ve never imported anything except from the states but I will need to in the future, so I was wondering if I could ask what range the customs fees are? Or they different depending on where you import from? I want to import from Europe (Last Window is the game).

Also the times I used (when it let me ship to Canada), I didn’t pay customs, or at least if I did, the cost was hidden in the shipping and handling. So is this more of a if they catch you, you pay, or was the cost simply hidden in shipping and handling?

      thanks for the help. :)

      • Code

Yep yep! I’m in Canada too >ww<'

If you wanna be particularly cautious and opt for a box/bulkier packaging you may end up paying customs, which is usually just whatever the tax would have been on the item had it retailed here.

        • Joanna

ah, thanks for the info. It was really useful. :3

And yeah, I’m still holding out on Last Window, especially since Ishaan posted that quote from Iwata saying more DS games will be coming stateside. I don’t want to pay double the European price plus shipping. ^^;;; (Last I checked, which was awhile ago when I went to Europe, it was something like 2$ CAN for 1$ Euro. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Euro is now more expensive thanks to the economic crash in North America. Pound is worse, it’s like 3$ CAN for 1£. Mind you, these are really rough estimates on my part… So I’m hoping there is an English option for Last Window from continental Europe. ^^;;;) Although if it comes to it, I will gladly lay down my hard earned money for Last Window. :3

          • Code

Yeah I figure European would have English options >ww<'

EDIT: Looks like my advice is somewhat incorrect… thanks for the heads up guys, didn’t know the Futari MBL was available outside of the Japanese XBL Marketplace.

It’s worth noting that to buy the Black Label DLC, you need to:1. Have a Japanese XBL account (which you can set up for free and access on any region 360 machine).2. Buy Japanese Xbox points, which you can only get by purchasing with a Japanese address credit card or through a prepaid Xbox point card (importers stock these). Great, great, great game though. Now I’m all agitated about the tomorrow news too! Dangun Feveron officially announced as the next XBLA release? EspRaDe XBLA? Announcement of the inevitable Akai Katana port? US localization of DDP Daifukkatsu 360? Futari for iPod/iPhone? Something completely underwhelming? Many possibilities…

    • malek86

No you don’t. I bought it with my regular european account. Saved me a lot of money too, because JP points are very expensive.

    • thaKingRocka

To add to what Malek said, the US marketplace also has the Black Label content.

    • Aoshi00

Yea, like malek and Kingrocka said, the Black Label DLC was actually available on the US marketplace too. I had no idea at the time, never would’ve thought the DLC for a region-free Jpn game was listed on the US marketplace. I found out after buying it from the Jpn marketplace and wasted my precious Jpn MS points (since 1000 pts was like $20..), now I have 1860 Jpn MS points left and not enough to buy any of the Games on Demand that I want :(..The blk label was way too hard for me though, getting to the real Larsa would be impossible. Wonder what the good Cave news is too, something to do w/ the upcoming DDP DFK? Region-free? I alrdy pre-ordered the LE from AmiAmi.

      • neo_firenze

Wow, consider me corrected then. Really surprising that the Black Label DLC is available on the US/EU stores when the original game isn’t available in either region. I had no idea, thought it was only on the Japanese store.

So then… I guess my suggestion is not applicable here, but perhaps useful general information in that it is still true that buying content off the Japanese marketplace does require a Japanese credit card or points card.

  • thaKingRocka

I saw this the other day through CAG. I’m considering buying this for my nephew. I bought my copy back at full price, and I don’t regret it one bit.

  • I hope to the gods that the treat is a Region Free Daifukkatsu, because I would be ALLLLLL over that if it is!

  • superdry

I hope the annoucement is Aksys has licensed DDP: DFK for the US. That would be an awesome treat (doesn’t matter much to me since I’m importing it, but I’ll gladly buy it again like I did with Deathsmiles).

Either that or CAVE will released Black Label as DLC like what they did with Mushihimesama. I can sort of see that more though….
