Rumor: Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden And New Digimon Story Bound For DS

By Spencer . November 18, 2010 . 11:51pm

image Namco Bandai, it seems, still has plans to make regular Nintendo DS games next year. A leak, reportedly from next week’s magazines, says Digimon Story Super Cross Wars Red/Blue Version and Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden are on track for release early next year.

According to the blog, the Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden piece has a screenshot of Goku and Perfect Cell fighting. The game is slated for February 3, 2011. Just last week we discovered a trademark for Ultimate Butouden filed by Namco Bandai in Japan.

Digimon Story Super Cross Wars has  an original story and over 350 Digimon to collect. It’s on track for spring 2011.

Tales @ Nihongo de OK tends to be quite reliable with pre-news, we wouldn’t be reporting this otherwise, nevertheless we’re marking this as a rumor for now.

Digimon Xros Wars, awesome. I was hoping they would do one for powerful consoles, though.

Yeah I’m still hoping for a Digimon game with Digimon Story Mechanics but on Consoles. Never less the DS series are some of my favorite so no complaints on yet another sequel. and it seems my one annoyance with Lost Evolution has been fixed and that is the number of Digimon that will be available.

Did that screenshot seem like a 2D or 3D fighter?

  • Flailthroughs

Hmm! If they were to use the two-level system from the old SNES Butoden games across the DS screens, that could be pleasantly gimmicky. I’ll be interested to see what this looks like in the end.

I’d rather it be an upgrade of Sega Saturn’s Shin Butoden

DBZ seems to may be a Super Sonic Warriors game I hope so!
