By Spencer . November 27, 2010 . 11:51am

imageNext month, Game Informer will reveal a game with the tag line "a survivor is born." While we don’t know what game it’s for, its a project from Square Enix Europe.

The Eidos side of Square Enix filed a trademark for "a survivor is born" in North America and Europe indicating that this teaser site is indeed their project.

Square Enix Europe also registered a trademark for Thief on the same day. Eidos Montreal, the team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is developing Thief 4.

this might be the new tomb raider or something?

  • http://twitter.com/UESneppid Mike Conroy

It’s already been confirmed to be the Tomb Raider reboot, there’s been an ad for it in a magazine already.

  • http://twitter.com/mangeezer jerry

yeah, no mystery, it’s definitely tomb raider

  • Catnipcookie

It’s about the one guy left who is still playing FF14.

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Hilarious. Also, good job not succumbing to another “it’s tomb raider” comment.

looks like the new tomb raider since the leaked description revealed it was lara croft’s origin story.

    • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Well… I’m certain we all know how Lara Croft came to be… If you know what I mean.

I really don’t think we need to see that in a game…

      • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

Is that a lame puberty joke or something?

        • [The Hunter] Doomrider

I don’t know about puberty, but it’s definitely a lame joke.

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Ah internet, how you spoil surprises… (partially those companies’ own fault for announcing announcements and using countdown clocks)
Any slight clue/leak will always lead to collective sleuthing that usually yields the correct answer (one clever person usually) within hours of said teaser weeks ahead of reveal.

Not that it’s always bad, but… I miss the feeling of being blown away by the actual reveal, both finding out what it is and seeing how awesome it looks at the same time.

Still looking forward too it, and hopes the survival horror elements are real.

    • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Well, it’s partially our own fault for always craving information (MOAR!) =P But I agree, nowadays it’s more like “oh look, famitsu leak thread” or “oh my, Sony Kuwait twitter confirmed Uncharted Bandicoot” or something. It’s still cool, but watching TGS/E3 reveals is way more exciting!

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Yea the price to pay for knowledge is… MOAR KNOWLEDGE.
(TGS reveals are probably my favorite reveals).

“Uncharted Bandicoot”?!! HOLY… I knew it! You just accidentally leaked Naughty Dog’s next game for the VGA reveal! You’re in trouble with Sony now… Wait, you’re in Kuwait? XD

        • [The Hunter] Doomrider

Yeah, TGS is always exciting! You know me, always delivering the very best info available (xD)! Nah, I just remembered that Sony Russia’s twitter spoiled Bioware’s VGA reveal (one of them?) by saying “HEY GUYS IT’S MASS EFFECT 3 AND STUFF” a few days ago. Oh gee, thanks a lot Sony Russia.

          • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

No no it’s too late for damage control, Doomrider. When you wake up tomorrow Uncharted Bandicoot will be all over your interwebz with SCEA on your voicemail.

Jk, but that would make a fun game, it really would.

…In Sony Russia, Mass Effect 3 reveals you!

  • BelmontHeir

Damn, I was hoping for something in the vein of “I Am Alive” (still unsure of the status of that game), i.e. a survival/survival-horror game with slick production values.

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Don’t let up yet, if the leaked concept art is real (creepy looking creatures), this one might be a survival/ survival-horror type game.

Good to see another fan of “I Am Alive”, I thought everyone had forgotten about that. Given recent news of Ubisoft canceling stuff, I hope that game is still alive. If not, then I at least hope Disaster Report 4 gets translated.
