Milestone Shooting Collection 2 Bundles Five Shooters For Wii

By Spencer . December 3, 2010 . 9:05am

imageChaos Field developer Milestone has another arcade shooter collection for Wii. Milestone Shooting Collection 2 packs Illvelo, Karous, Chaos Field, Radio Allergy, and Radio Allergy Noa onto one disc.

Does the list look familiar? Milestone Shooting Collection also known as Ultimate Shooting Collection in North America had three of those games: Radio Allergy, Karous, and Chaos Field.

The five pack of shooters costs 4,800 yen ($58) and is slated for release on December 30. UFO Interactive brought Ultimate Shooting Collection out of Japan, but recently they’ve been passing on Milestone’s titles.

  • I know. Until recently, I had Illvelo in my wishlist just to see if the “add to cart” button showed up again, but …just got to keep rolling.

I got USC and Radirgy Noa Wii…all were horrible. Not excited.

Disagree: both Illvelo and Radirgy Noa are very solid, Compile-esque, throwbacks. It’s really too bad that’s what left of the shooter fanbase only worships at the altar of Cave, which means that anyone trying to do something that isn’t danmaku, is pretty much written off.

I disagree. And i usually like Milestone games, but Radilgy Noa is a bad one. It’s unbelievable that a game without any kind of effects or good graphics can have so much problems with the framerate.

Also, it’s almost the same game as the first one. Most of the enemies and scenarios are the same. There’s a couple of endings, but that’s it.

But Illvelo is nice, i’ll have to agree on you in this one. In fact, i ended up playing more Illvelo than Noa after getting the game(which makes me feel like a moron after seeing they will release the same games in this collection for less).

After playing USC1, I think that’s enough for me. Chaos Field was the only half-decent game in there. I haven’t played Illvelo or Noah, but I’m definitely not hopeful for either.

  • I’m really happy about this. I was hoping this very thing would happen, as I didn’t think $30 is worth it for three so-so shooters, now I can get 5. That’s much fairer, plus I would’ve been peeved if I did get USC for this reason. :P

UFO can be forgiven, as it’s pretty obvious that they canned Ilvelo and passed on Noa due to this, and I don’t think they’re brave enough to bring over Twinkle Queen (plus it sucks apparently). They were bringing over Poker Puzzle, so I don’t know why that’s disappeared as well.

  • I’ve got Ultimate Shooting Collection… BUT I CAN’T READ ANY OF THE TEXT IN THE GAMES. Menu text is fine… but something is being said during gameplay and I want to read it. >8[

Maybe I really need to get a good TV.

lol i remember the game Castle of Shikigami

“i like girls but now it’s about justice”

  • Oof, I’d be a mite peeved by all these compilations if I was a Milestone fan.

…Hero of Legend is probably right about UFO passing on the individual releases in order to localize this five-pack, but I’ll be a bit disappointed if so. I’ve never tried a Milestone game, but a few people whose tastes I trust seem to enjoy Radirgy Noa and Illvelo — so I was hoping they’d pick up Noa Massive. :/
