The Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors And Shiren The Wanderer 5 Crossover Item

By Spencer . December 3, 2010 . 9:48am

imageWhile Shiren won’t wander his way into the nonary game, there is an item from Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors in Shiren the Wanderer 5: Fortune Tower and the Dice of Fate.

Players can find a Nonary Bracelet in Shiren the Wanderer 5. The character inside the bracelet is "9." This item is considered a treasure even though its linked to a terrible explosion after a door closed. Legend says it can also open a door…

Chunsoft, the creators of the Shiren series along with many other roguelikes, also developed Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors.

If Shiren was in 9H9P9D, I would have bought it on day one. Dude’s awesome.

That said, it’s always fun to see companies do little in-jokes like this.

  • I do love Chunsoft and their cameos :D! 999 FTW!

    • I was going post this in aksys’s forums but im gonna say it here >8D, im already finishing 999’s last ending, and more and more is getting revealed to me (i already got all other endings)… And seriously, im really thankful to all Aksys’s staff for letting me experience such an awesome game, with such an awesome story and puzzles and everything.I really hope you guys get the money you expected from this game, or more, i would like to see more games like this localized, and i also want to see your efforts put on this game paid, because the localization was simply great. This game is just a piece of art. Really, i love you all.

      • That’s really awesome and kind of you to say :D! I’m glad you enjoyed it just as much as we all did ;)!

We love all our fans too :)

Really, it’s just out and out fantastic. You guys really need to do more visual novels. It is so good, I’d consider it the best that’s come out for the system so far; better than Ace Attorney even.

Yeah, 999 is by far the best visual noveladventure hybrid on Ds, mixing strong and intelligent puzzles with Ever17’s scenario writer has done wonders.

I really hope Aksys continues to support the console visual novel fanbase, seeing such games as Steins Gate and 428 unlocalized really hurt (not to mention the upcoming Umineko PS3 remake).

I ditto the above x 10! Or should I say 9, lol? As I said before, I’m not usually a big fan of games with lots of blood and gore, but I’ve really enjoyed this one. Yes, there are some bloody visuals, but nothing too gory, and since I’m a bookworm the descriptions aren’t really any worse than some I’ve read in a typical horror novel. The story and characters are great, and all in all I found it to be a really fun and engaging experience. I’m glad I took a chance and spent my money on this!

Kudos to you all for a wonderful localization and I hope this bodes well for future VN releases (Cough otome games cough) ;)

Everytime I look at the artwork I am reminded of Capcom vs SNK

Can anyone tell me what happened to the PSP version of Shiren The Wanderer? Last article I’ve read here said something about new dungeons and a January 2010 release and then poof, nothing…..

Everyone even remotely interested in great puzzles and an extremely satisfying plot should buy 999, it’s one of the most amazing games I have played in the last years. I’m really happy to see that the critics have praised it, too.
