Study These Students Of The Round Screenshots

PC RPG maker Experience is bringing one of their dungeon crawlers to Xbox 360. Students of the Round has a classic feel with some impressive looking artwork.

It’s like Wizardry or Etrian Odyssey without the mapmaking. Instead, you have a sprinkling of school events. The game follows a group of students out to slay a demon lord, a hundred years after it was defeated by another group of heroes failed to defeat it at the beginning of the game.

Experience stuffed the Xbox 360 version with new content like dungeons, events, and monsters to slay. It’s slated for a February 2011 release. February 10, according to Japanese retailer Media Land.

  • Only if this was on the PS3 it might of had a chance T.T

    • Hraesvelgr

Might have a chance for what? You to buy it? Because I can’t really think of anything else you’d be getting at here.

      • well i was talking about for ti to be brought over here i can play already since i know Japanese

        • LORDMATRIX2004

Being on X360 actually makes the chances of it coming to the West pretty decent actually. Considering the western market is pro X360. I know I would get it.

    • This was already released on the PC, for the record. It’s already pulled in a decent profit.

  • Actually, the demon lord in question *wasn’t* defeated. That’s how the game starts; you play as the Big Heroes Of The Round who LOSE to the demon lord in question and it’s up to the main player character and his loyal crew of misfits to try and desperately save the world.

And man, despite being all stills, this sure looks pretty at high def, eh? Sure would be nice if someone brought it over, on the 360 or the PC.

    Sure would be nice.

    • Hraesvelgr

      You hinting at something there?

      • Oh, just thinking aloud. Don’t mind me. Doot doot doot…

    • malek86

So wait a second. The group of heroes can’t defeat the demon lord, and they expect a group of students to be able to?

      • It’s one of those “well we don’t really have anyone else to *send* on this quest, have fun and try not to get slaughtered too heavily!” situations. The player character, as I understand it, is definitely not “first string” on the hero business when the game opens. I may need to double-check all this but I’m 95% sure it’s right.

One thing I want to know: Does the hero speak? I’m kind of getting tired of silent protagonists these days.

    • Huh I must’ve remembered this wrong. I thought it was the heroes died upon sealing the demon and it’s out on the loose again. I like the intro in the game a lot more, futile battles in the beginning are already interesting to play.

Sure would be nice if someone brought this over on Steam…

      • I actually do want to double-check that now, but I’m pretty sure that’s how it goes down.

    • Hopefully the 360 because we’d be missing out on all the new content otherwise! :)

  • JustaGenericUser

No fair that it’s on 360 and not PS3 too. I hope if the game gets localized it’s also on PC. Or that it becomes a PS3/360 multiplat.

    EDIT: Forgot a crucial word.

    • LORDMATRIX2004

It`s reasons such as this that make being a multi-console owner a smart choice. If you don`t have the money to get all 3 then get the one you want the most and save up gradually for the other 2. Not that hard really.

      • JustaGenericUser

It would certainly allow you to play any game you want. But I’d rather not spend the money on 360 when there’s almost no game I want from it with the exception of 3 or so. Money’s tight as it is.

I hope this comes out in the West. :D
