The latest chapter of Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Darkness focuses on a bard named Eduardo. His chapter, The Bard’s Love, begins with his return to Rusalka. Since losing his family, Eduardo traveled the world alone as a wandering minstrel. His singing voice, in particular, is revered in Rusalka.

One night he meets a mermaid and falls in love at first sight.

This story takes place after the events with Barbara the dragoon leaving the group. Sol and the other light warriors save the fishing village Cabo from pirates. When they arrive at the port town Rusalka they hear rumors of an ominous singing voice at night, which is said to be a witch.

Eduardo’s scenario also adds the bard job to the game. Unlike other jobs in Final Fantasy Legends, this only has one command: sing

  • Eduardo the bard?
Square Enix are mocking us with how many localization-based inside references to the franchise’s past they’re adding to this game…

  • neocatzon

bard, made us remember FF4’s Edward the coward bard (hide command lol)

  • BK0000

I hope Square Enix ports the game to WiiWare. It looks like it may make up for the disappointment of Final Fantasy XIII.

    • Apollokids

After lengthy reflection, I’ve realized that I put FF13 on too high of a pedestal. It a great game. But its not an epic game. For me, FFX was an epic game.

    • Choppasmith

As much as I like playing a brand new “classic” FF game. FF4 TAY was so ugly and lazy in its presentation, I just couldn’t finish it.

  • SneakyHawk

US release, please! I wonder how this spoony bard will fare in this game.

  • RupanIII

grr why won’t they do stuff like this on a larger, non-mobile-phone scale

  • JustaGenericUser

    – Eduardo the bard
    – Barbara the dragoon

    Not very subtle, are they?

    • Testsubject909

I think they lost all subtlety the moment they became Squeenix.

FFX for exemple. How obvious is it that the summoner has to…

FFXIII: Lightning? Seriously? How are we NOT supposed to connect that to Cloud in ANY WAY POSSIBLE.

Oh, so she’s part of a resistance? In a futuristic city? Appearing via a train? With a black guy in tow? And she has spikey hair? And is named based on weather? Gee… That in no way reminds me of any other spikey haired protagonist that is introduced via a train and has a black ally with him who is part of a resistance cell in a futuristic city…

Whose first boss battle happens to be a mechanical crab/scorpion…

  • Yukito

    Sol and Dusk?….

I see “Sera” makes yet another show in a FF game.

Aegis, I dunno, I feel like I hear that name alot.

Eduardo would be cooler if he was an imaginary bull.

Barbara…..first thought was Dragon Quest 6.

    • JustaGenericUser

When I saw the name Barbara and saw that she’s a dragoon, I thought of Barbarecia from FF4.

EDIT: Who could only be defeated by Kain’s Jump, to add.
