imageWithout any official warning, SNK released NeoGeo Heroes Ultimate Shooing on PlayStation Network… today. Of course, Siliconera readers expected to see the SNK character smorgasbord shooter in North America. We spotted multiple ratings pointing at an international release.

The PSP game has ten playable characters:

Iroha from Samurai Shodown VI
Marco Rossi from Metal Slug
Akari Ichijo from Last Blade
Athena Asamiya from Psycho Soldier/The King of Fighters
Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury
Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury
Kyo Kusanagi from The King of Fighters
Iori Yagami from The King of Fighters
Kula Diamond from The King of Fighters
SYDIII from Armored Scrum Object

… and a tate mode where you use the d-pad to control your character and the analog stick to attack. NeoGeo Heroes Ultimate Shooting costs $19.99 on the PlayStation Store.

Why SNKP, WHY? Why do you keep doing this crap here in the west? Stealth releasing a pretty big shumup, for one. Digital download only, for two. Least this says something… SNKP is going to port this to XBLA in the near future~ So, I’ll be waiting… Just like I am for Trouble Witches Neo! :3

Seems like an all profit strategy, release the game for a premium price, expend absolutely no dollars for marketing or production of discs, glamor over the fact that websites will generate buzz…make tons of money.

Yeah, they should totally waste money making UMDs for the twenty people who would buy this.

Digital distribution is perfect for a game like this, like it or not.

Namco’s business decisions have nothing on SNK’s. I want to support them so I get my KOF but it’s hard sometimes. It’s so hard. I don’t like they way they handle anything.

KoF Sky Stage is already on XBLA, even though it didn’t do much for me. Check it out!

zomg look at MARCO’S FACE. “My gun and me are one and the same”??? O_o

    I’m scared, mommy.

Was waiting for something like this to be released for PSP =)

    One word. . . IROHA!!!!

This game is garbage. You are better off picking up Samurai Shodown Anthology for the PSP because it has Samurai Shodown 6 and therefore- god tier Iroha.
Here is a fight between Iroha and Rimururu which is tight:

Thanks for the warning. I already got Samurai Shodown Anthology for the PS2 since SNK really got a bad job porting Sam Sho 6 for the PSP (low-res graphics, choppy frames and it was stuck with that American-sounding announcer) which is too bad since I really prefer playing Samurai Shodown games for the PSP.

I’m only interested in this game because it had Metal Slug (Marco) and Samurai Shodown (Iroha) characters in it.

Yeah I just recently became a Samurai Shodown Zealot. I couldn’t really believe it had the whole series on a psp umd. Characters are great and supers are nice and watching some expert matches really put it over the top. I also have samurai shodown special 5 on my psp running through an emulator. With the fatalities and gore its truly amazing and it runs smooth.

Naw i like it if you already knew what the game was its a good shooter for what it is. I already have SSA as well awsome game but the psp version is not so good though its better to have the wii version.

I have the PS2 version, myself.

To anyone here that has already played the English version, is there English voices in the game? if so, is it the same dub as KOF SkyStage, or a completely different dub?
