Tecmo Koei Spending A Bit More Time Polishing Samurai Warriors 3Z

By Spencer . December 7, 2010 . 11:31am

imageSamurai Warriors 3Z, a PlayStation 3 version of Samurai Warriors 3, and Samurai Warriors 3 Xtreme Legends won’t make their targeted January 27, 2011 release date in Japan.

Tecmo Koei announced today both games have been rescheduled for release two weeks later on February 10. The publisher plans to spend extra time improving the quality of both releases.

Neither game has been announced for North America at this time.

I wonder if it will. There’s quite a few upgraded versions that hasn’t been able to make it to the western shores yet (Tales of Vesperia, I’m looking at you).

I’ve unfortunately heard some bad things about Samurai Warriors 3, and not from the typical “oh it’s a button masher repetitive smashfest” that people immediately assume. But considering how I could only play the PS3 version, and how it’s both the original + the extreme addition, I can only hope that whatever felt off has been tweaked by then.

Though personally, between this and Dynasty Warriors 7. I’d rather hear more about Dynasty Warriors 7. It sounds as though they’re fixing a lot of things and implementing new ideas that can help in changing the gameplay well enough. Though, again, it’ll probably be a battlefield focused game as opposed to a combat focused game (despite the fact that you still need to be aware of your combat situation, by which I mean, the importance will not be set upon the immediate actions, but rather, upon your influence unto the entire battlefield itself.)

Eh… well, I’ll be one of the few here waiting to see more news from here or from Koeiwarriors uk.

After viewing the amazing gameplay that is Kingdom under Fire II, I think Omega Force needs to totally rethink their game engine.

Man, I want this game so bad on the 360. Hopefully Koei Tecmo of America will make it happen.

Hope that Z doesn’t mean Japan only like what happen with WOZ. I feel a little bad though that I won’t be buying SW3 for now at least because of these ports.
