Arc System Works didn’t set an exact date, but we do have a timeline for the final BlazBlue: Continuum Shift downloadable character. Platinum the Trinity (surprise?) will be ready in spring 2011.

Valkenhayn Hellsing, the second downloadable character, was just released for Xbox 360 owners this week. Until January 10, he’s discounted down to 320 Microsoft Points ($4). Afterwards, Valkenhayn will cost 560 Microsoft Points ($7).

As of now, a price for Platinum the Trinity has not been announced.

I heard something about these DLC characters not being available for use in all modes. Can someone quickly fill me in on this?

    • shimrion

They can’t be used in story mode, arcade mode, or legion mode.

      • PurpleDoom

They’ll probably be usable in Arcade mode once the Continuum Shift II patch comes out. Probably not Story or Legion, though. As for Platinum, spring 2011 seems like a long wait, especially compared to the comparatively low time between Makoto and Valkenhayn PS3. Hopefully they get her out sooner.

that sucks, i wanted a story of each character on it’s own.

maybe after the release of Blazblue Continum Shift II in arcades from japan they might make story from the DLC characters and released them in one package maybe in the summer.

          • PurpleDoom

Yeah, I hope so too. At least they’ll probably get stories when the next game rolls around. Plus, the Arcade mode for each character has minor story tidbits, so it’s not like there’s no story for these characters whatsoever.

Rebalance after arcade release? Quite a possibility.

She needs the extra time to fill the gaps in her wardrobe.

what a way to say “go play in the arcade”. Of course ASW only cares about japanese sales since they don’t bring profit from other versions.

hopefully the release Blazblue Continiuum Shift II in the summer and it includes all DLC characters and stuff.

i prefer having physical copy instead digital characters.

Continuum Shift II comes to Continuum Shift as a patch.

Which is… well, sorta funny, since there were a lot of people going “WHY ISN’T THIS JUST A PATCH” before CS came out, even though it added a new story and a ton of other stuff. Since CS II is just rebalancing, it makes sense to have it as a patch.
