imageMT Framework, Capcom’s internal game engine that’s behind Lost Planet and Resident Evil 5, is also used to make portable games.

Resident Evil: Revelations, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, and Mega Man Legends 3 use MT Framework too. Mazakazu Eguchi, Director, mentioned this bit in a blog post where he announced the winner of the Bonne Mecha event. You’ll see the Donner Wels in the Nintendo 3DS game as a boss.

I always did take Lost Planet’s engine as something that could make use for a new MML. This’ll be fun indeed.

That’s what the lead designer/coder of the engine had in mind, that one day, it would power MML3.
