imageKonami is bringing most of their core franchises to Nintendo 3DS. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D, LovePlus, Pro Baseball Spirits 3D, and Winning Eleven 3D Soccer are all confirmed for the handheld.

On top of those, Konami has a completely new title. Famitsu has Doctor Lautrec and the Knights of Oblivion in this week’s issue. Scans for the game have not leaked, but it is said to be an adventure game.

  • Doctor Lautrec and the Knights of Oblivion…as long as this “Doctor Lautrec” wears a top hat and these Knights of Oblivion have a monocle and speak in a villianious British accent, this game will be epic :D

This sounds about as inspired as Science Papa.

  • The Knights of Oblivion, well an original title sounds interesting.

No Konami game was on that leaked Walmart listing of 3DS titles releasing in the states in the US, so I guess none of the Konami titles mentioned will be hitting in early 2011.

Konami may be bringing most of their core franchises to the 3DS, but I am still waiting for the announcement of a Castlevania title.

Though, if they do announce one, I certainly hope it will be a 2D platformer that uses the 3D effects to make use of the 3D feature.

    • Igarashi-san has a 3DS devkit, so the chances are very good.

  • I keep reading everywhere this is a Prof. Layton inspired game. Looks likey they haven’t given up after Zack & Ombra on DS.

EDIT: Wiiz.fr has the scans. Artstyle looks like Layton with a bit of modern PuyoPuyo.

Sounds OK but honestly they should have just stuck with the Zack and Ombra line, to compete with Layton. How could they consider 1 game in the series such a failure to have to create a whole new IP.

Wow, Konami has just got a massive hard-on for Professor Layton, huh?
