Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive Goes Hunting In The Spring

By Spencer . December 15, 2010 . 11:10am

Naruto meets… Monster Hunter? That’s one way to describe Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive.

Set in the Naruto-verse, this PSP game has a cooperative multiplayer mode with monsters to fight in free mission mode. Players can pick their favorite ninja and power them up by collecting scrolls. There’s a chain system in Kizuna Drive too where you can match the timing of another player to deal extra damage.

Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive also has an original story where Naruto investigates disappearing Hidden Leaf ninja. You’ll meet made-for-the-game characters and team up with NPCs in this mode.

Namco Bandai has Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive slated for a spring 2011 release in North America.

  • I’d say “stick to the fighting games,” but who knows, some of the fans may like this. *Is not a fan of Naruto*

    • Zanasea

So why do you even bother commenting about it? :p

      • Because I’ve played some of the fighting games at one of my friend’s house, and I think they’re pretty good. And I’m being introduced to the Monster Hunter series from another friend of mine, so there ya go, both bases covered.

You don’t have to be a fanboy (or “Narutard” as some say) of some Anime to respect the fighting game it represents.
        Respect 8ing

Well indeed. A friend of mine who is not a big fan of Naruto really enjoyed Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.

    • Dude!!! You do not know what you are missing, the Naruto games are great for fans and non fans alike! I can assure you that every game is epically awesome and ranks in the upper echelon of the genre they are in for quality and goodness.

Its great to see the series branch out in different genres so that new storylines can be pursued! You should become a Naruto fan, its so epic!

      • I would be interested if the slightest drops of fascination I’ve had for the series weren’t scared — and spoiled — dry by some of the most rabid and pathetic Naruto fans I’ve seen, those of which have pestered me in IM and dA. D;

  • Thats one of my favorite Naruto stances! ZOMG this game will be most epic! I so can not wait! lol! Im truly shocked I didnt even know this game was coming, boy, Namco Bandai sure throws in these surprises!

Day 1 Baby, Day 1!!!!!!!! Naruto, Kiba, Hinata team is my favorite!!!!!! zomg!

The fact it has no relation the the story at all makes this a no for me. The next Naruto game I’ll be buying will probably be Storm 3 or Accel 4/Ultimate Ninja 6. I have to admit the intro for this is good though :).

    • Ugh its gonna be so hard waiting for Storm 3!!!!! But there is so much content in Storm 2 that I will still be playing it even into the 2012!

  • Xekyo

I think these are for true naruto fans who’d like to explore for a bit away from the main story and have a little more adventure in the narutoverse since the series looks like it’s going to end soon. I think i’ll try this out tho with Dragon Blade as well. They both look like they’d be fun to play. But i’m most anticipated for Bleach: Soul Ignition.

  • Shrewed, cunning plan. Realising that MHP3 would be a success they decided to jump on the Hunter-genre bandwagon (like Namco and Square Enix), but they have the advantage of Naruto fans and that actually get those who would shy away from Monster Hunter-esque games (including MH itself) to go for it.

Screw it being a clone, I’m tempted to get this myself :D

Didnt they do this already with the Dragon Blade game for Wii??
