By Spencer . December 17, 2010 . 2:52am

You may have heard this news before, Record of Agarest War 2 is received a hefty post-launch patch that added PlayStation Move controls for the massage mini-game and an animated event viewer.

Before we get to that, Record of Agarest War 2 is getting some cameo characters from the game that started the series.

Leonhardt and Valeria from Record of Agarest War will be available as paid downloadable content on December 22. The PlayStation Move patch is free.

Compile Heart has another video showcasing a questionable scene from the animated gallery. You can head over to their site to watch it. Watch out for… a horse.

  • Wait..what? Using ‘Soft cream’ to massage? Huh??
    What is this I don’t even….

And its looks kinda strange cuz it seems like the player is simply rubbing on a flat picture, as the girl barely has any animation…and in pure 2D…amusingly pointless

Use your imagination HAHAHAHA! So much for graphics ain’t much xD This one needed that.

    • Yeah it looked pretty weird because it just stays the same (in most of the parts) But oh well… Imagination is a powerful weapon

  • RagnaXBL

  • Oh awesome, I ove her voice as well. I wish they used the strawberry

    • PrinceHeir

      or chocolate :)

damn the Ishihara ban. fucking idiot at best.

what’s ironic is that he’s also the author of Shokei no Heiya” (“Execution Room”)

synopsis: A group of young men pick up two women, who they go drinking with. They slip sedatives into their drinks and subsequently rape them. The girl’s friends catch up with them and stab one of them to death in a fight.

and “Taiyou no Kisetsu” (“Season of the Sun”)

synopsis: A tearaway boxer in highschool begins a sexual relationship with a schoolgirl (by sticking his penis through a paper screen door), whom he soon grows tired of. He sells the girl to his brother for 5,000 yen.
The story ends with the girl becoming pregnant with her former boyfriend’s child and dying after a botched abortion, with the protagonist showing remorse for the first time in the story whilst attending her funeral.

  • That’s a lot of girls to massage!

Wooble physics need some massive work though. I saw people getting a lot more depth out of 2D images using the right tools. Not just in ero-stuff, but also “serious” 2D games like Muramasa.

  • Lolll wtf with all the choices xD

  • cmurph666

    …I’ll be in my bunk.

  • Darkrise

    Here’s to Kinect-abled in the future 360 port. =P

  • Feynman

If you hear a loud crash, that’s just the sound of my skull fracturing as my forehead makes contact with my desk.

For some reason I’m hungrier now than I was 2:16 ago.

I just read that a ban preventing “promoting illegal or immoral sexual activity” in manga and anime has been passed into law in Japan. It applies to games as well. Apparently it originally targeted loli secks (ok) but was later changed to include everything else as well (what).

“Immoral sexual activity” is vaguely worded thus widely applicable. Worrisome. Dunno if spreading ice cream ‘cross tightly toweled tits count but I could definitely see bold depictions of sexuality in games like Catherine being affected (OH NO).

EDIT: Oh I didn’t clarify, the ban is only applicable for content accessible to those under 18, so if games get a Cero Z it will be safe from scrutiny (O_O).

    • Hey, hey, but there is nothing bad here, all i see is a ice cream figure going around and the girl in towel saying stuff, i dont see anything inmoral here :)

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

        Hopefully. Hopefully.

    • Now that’s just great :/
Worst case scenario for games like this one: either killed by censorship or killed by the Cero Z rating, which prevents a good chunk of potential buyers from purchasing it… right?

    • SolidusSnake

The funny thing is, it’s still legal to own (but not to distribute) real kiddy porn in Japan, but apparently anime like Sora no Otoshimono or Oreimo is gonna get shelved due to being “harmful to youths.”

      Oh, those wacky Japanese!

    • The ban is for the Tokyo Metropolis area. Although, you could say Tokyo is to… everything(?) in Japan as Texas is to schoolbooks in the U.S.A. Simple sounding solution is to move the companies out to other prefectures but… I suppose it’s not as simple as sounds. Osaka and Kyoto are safe bets though… I think. Or publishers could somehow print out only 5 works that violate the law, they’ll be safe.

Somewhat more specific details of the law.

I hope the Tokyo Anime Fair boycott will as effective as many believe it will be.

Oh and anything before July 2011 shouldn’t be affected by the law, so Catherine is safe. Plus it’s has a satirical message(Don’t cheat. EVER!) in it, so unless the regulation board will be super strict, it would have passed. Although… maybe the covers would have to been changed.

Edit: Hmmm… The law says 6 works… Catherine is probably the only one for Atlus in the next 12 months. And there’s nothing illegal, like inappropriate groping on the train, or vouyerism(although I think even the classic accidental panty shot counts towards this) in the game… Hmm… I’d say Catherine would have been safe regardless of circumstances.

      • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Your words are quite comforting to hear, because I am otherwise clueless about what’s really going on over there outside of the 2 articles I had read.

    • goronyan

      First was Agnes, now..*sigh*
      Seriously i think Ishihara is abusing power and he deserves to die by judging artists and people like crap;
and i was planning on going in the next comiket but now…

      • No matter how you look at it, it’s a political power grab by the Liberal Democratic Party. In the eyes of the voting majority, it’s something that will benefit their children. Although in reality, as we all know, it does nothing but impede on freedom of speech. The worst part is that any opposing party that would have objected to this bill would look bad in the eyes of the voting public.

Depending on the size of population classfied “otaku” in Tokyo that don’t vote though, if some politician were to appeal to them and get the message across to others that this law isn’t fair, if not unconstitutional(I don’t know how the Constitution of Japan defines freedom of speech), and will fight to repeal the law, then maybe, just maybe, the fight may not be over on July 2011.

Btw, Winter Comiket 79 is safe from this law.

Now question: How is Ishihara still governor despite all the controversial actions and statements he has made?

Edit: Sorry, apparently I like politics and history more than I thought.

  • hadjimurad

this game is definitely a ‘horse’ of a different color.

  • Barrit

I’ll never have the same view of McDonald’s ice cream cones ever again.

By the way, how was it still so sturdy after all that massaging? Wait.. I think I answered my own question ;x

  • Oh, I see Meu and Ellis in there as well. I pray to god that Ellis is not as broken as she once was and that Meu isn’t as flexible as a frigging rubberband. Seriously, Meu can do anything, ANYTHING.

    • haisihwait

      “Anything” You say…

    • M’iau M’iaut

I think perchance that last description would fit most Agarest girls…..or at least Aksys’ advertising would make it seem possible.

  • JustaGenericUser

Well, we know what game isn’t leaving Japan.

  • Woot, this game is getting a sequel. =)
