Back To The Future: The Game Hits 88 MPH, Launches This Week

By Spencer . December 20, 2010 . 5:39pm

Telltale Games, makers of the episodic Sam & Max series, are reviving Back to the Future with a new video game. Back to the Future: The Game picks up after Back to the Future III where the bank is foreclosing on the Doc’s estate.

That’s the least of the Doc’s worries. He’s in trouble again, maybe in jail, and Marty has to rescue him. Fortunately, the DeLorean with a Flux Capacitor appears out of nowhere for Marty to use. The first episode in Back to the Future: The Game comes out this week with the series closing after April.

Looks a gigaton better than the first Back to the Future game where players threw bowling balls and dodge girls dancing in the street.

Let’s hope it doesn’t crash into negative feedback with that speed.

This looks great so far, the voice actor for Marty is extremely close to Micheal J. Fox, which unfortunately reminds me of how sick he is. I really feel bad for that poor guy,it pains me to see someone like that. Still I hope this turns out good as BTTF is one of my favorite movies from the 80′s.

I wonder if Marty’s VA is James Arnold Taylor (Tidus in FFX), that guy did a lot of voices and some covers for Michael J. Fox like Stuart Little 2.

It’s funny I just started Sam & Max Ep 1 last night and the jokes were pretty hilarious, it was like a point and click adventure sort of w/ a twisted sense of humor.. I missed getting the BTTF blu-ray set when Amazon had it for $24.99 during Thanksgiving…

i definitely dont think thats James Arnold Taylor.
        could be wrong tho

I just looked it up, it seems like he’s voicing the young Doc in this game. I just thought it could be him because he did some cover for Michael J Fox in sequels of his movies. He’s very versatile though, we might be hearing him in commercials everyday and don’t even realize it, he’s the voice of Ratchet too! And I liked his Tidus :)

I’m watching all three movies to prepare. I’ve never been a huge Back To the Future fan, but a Telltale Games series is worth getting hyped about.

I lovelovelove Back to the Future. Waiting on reviews, but if they’re even moderately good/average I’ll be all over this.

I’m kind of sad it doesn’t let me play through the movies’ plotlines, but from a flexible gameplay perspective it’s probably for the best.

I almost cried watching that trailer. Pure nostalgia! Thank you Telltale Games!

1.21 gigawatts is needed to actually run the game.
