Ultimate Ninja Impact Sounds Like The Next Big Naruto Game To Us

By Spencer . December 21, 2010 . 12:36am

imageSince the Naruto series is one of Namco Bandai’s most lucrative licenses we’re positive the publisher is working on new Naruto Shippuden games right now.

That game is, perhaps, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact. Why? Well, Namco Bandai trademarked the potential (probable?) subtitle in Europe.

Plus Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact sounds like a natural follow up to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, Namco Bandai’s big Naruto game of 2010.

Oh awesome!!!!!! Though I thought it would be for the PSP, regardless, I can never have enough of the phenomenally epically awesome Naruto series!, Ultimate Ninja no less, this is an awesome morning, good thing Im up at this 3Am hour for this awesome news!

      Excited fan is excited.

Good lord, Namco is shoving out more Naruto games then there are sports games.

And yet they will all come to the States while we get shafted on Tales games, and they’re bringing over a game called Muscle March. Seriously ***** you Namco.

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

Namco Bandai only gives us like 1-2 naruto games a year, and they are all koala tea.

      • http://twitter.com/sylar1985 Sylar100

That’s more then how many Tales games they give us, but i usually call Naruto the Deaf fighting anime since they always use Hand Signs to fight.

        • FHOIW

LOL. I’ve actually never thought of that… Next time I’ll play the game on mute.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YRUCHRP6FPI5QJ6K73SUEHISIQ adfadf

THere is absolutely no reason to bring Tales of to the West

They would need to localize it,maybe synchronize it,advertise it for what?200k sales?LOL
They get more than this in half the effort from Japan and their DLC

Naruto is a thing at least every kid knows and its pretty popular too by “older” people.
The West had its chance with Tales of Vesperia but the people(360 crowd) didn’t buy 10 Million Units of it like they do every year with every generic FPS.
Bamco clearly sees that it would be wasted time…You clearly don’t want Tales of enough.

But Bamco made a mistake too
Bringing one of the best Tales of ever made to a console filled with meatheads. They should have made Vesperia from the beginning for the PS3(well it was obviously planned if you see the signs in the 360 version) but they had to take the dirty money from M$.

      • http://twitter.com/sylar1985 Sylar100

Not really, Namco only gets not a lot of sales because they never actually Advertise the Tales games. It’s because of their stupid mistakes that they don’t get enough sales.

If Naruto wasn’t an anime/manga then it would be in the same boat as Tales, barely enough sales and such, Namco sucks at Advertising their games. I even bought that crappy Tales of Legendia game. Don’t blame the lack of sales on anyone but Bamco. In today’s day and age We have the Internet, TV, they are perfect Venue’s to advertise the Tales series, but Namco doesn’t.

You can’t really rely on Word of Mouth anymore for games in this day and age, we have Technology to help spread the word about games, but Namco doesn’t use whats given to them, then they blame us for not buying enough of the games they never even advertise.

        • andref

I agree, I bought Tales of Vesperia but never heard about until some time before its release

        • ChocolateBar999

Wrong, this is a very common misconception among the Tales fanbase, they do advertise to the medium in which JRPG is allowed to advertise that isn’t Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. The problem is not the advertisement it’s the fact that JRPG aren’t as popular in the US compared to a decade ago.

If Naruto wasn’t an anime/manga then it would be in the same boat as Tales

What the hell kind of stupid logic is that? Naruto just has more marketability than Tales, deal with it!

It doesn’t matter how much you advertise the game the bottom line is that the Tale franchise is very niche outside Japan, saying Bamco is responsible because people don’t buy the games is stupid. TOS is the only game in the series that sold well because Nintendo did well in advertising it and the fact that Nintendo’s RPG library was scarce at the time. Saying Bamco doesn’t advertise Tales Games is ludicrous.

          • http://twitter.com/sylar1985 Sylar100

It’s funny when you’re wrong isn’t it. Look at games like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest 9, all very popular JRPG series, both FF13 and DQ9 sold very well in the US, why, because people know the series, and the company advertises them, near the release dates they were both advertised very well on TV and online.

It’s not a misconception that Namco doesn’t advertise, because they really don’t advertise tales games, ever.

“What the hell kind of stupid logic is that? Naruto just has more marketability than Tales, deal with it!”

Sorry bro but it’s true. If Naruto wasn’t already a popular Anime and Manga, more so Anime in the US then it would have a heard time selling just like Tales games.

“It doesn’t matter how much you advertise the game the bottom line is that the Tale franchise is very niche outside Japan, saying Bamco is responsible because people don’t buy the games is stupid. It’s Niche because people barely know about the Series in the US, because bamco never advertises it, Japan always has commercials for their tales games, which is why they are somewhat popular there. You even said the same damn thing about namco advertising being the reason when you said that ToS sold well because Nintendo Advertised it.

“TOS is the only game in the series that sold well because Nintendo did well in advertising it”
            BOOYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Agreed I only bought Tales of Eternia because of the Official Playstation magazine’s very short article on it haha.

In the UK most if not all Playstation and XBox games advertised on TV are western, FF13 had a commercial for a very brief period. I can’t believe it to be honest, why don’t they advertise? Nintendo advertise the hell out of Japanese games here (well Dragon Quest IX). Apart from that it’s all Fifa, Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed or … well that’s pretty much it :/. The first and last time I saw an advert for a Naruto game on TV was in 2006 XD

          • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

Well with no/few tv ads they were able to get over 700mln unit sales of UNS2, so perhaps its unnecessary to advertise in tv for Naruto, I think they advertise their Ben10 and DBZ games on tv though.

Maybe apart from the megapublishers, tv ads are too costly? I saw tons of ads online for UNS2 and Raging Blast 2

          • alundra311

Did I read 700 million unit sales right? I heard they shipped around 1 million units.

          • http://www.facebook.com/alwaysbored.andrade Jonathan Andrade

No Naruto game has actually sold 1 million units to consumers. Namco has shipped more than 1 million units of a few, but none have ever sold many. Naruto isn’t as big as everyone likes to think it is.

          • malek86

I think people are placing too much importance on TV ads. While they are still important, they’re falling in relevance pretty fast. As the time spent watching TV decreases in favor of time spent online, internet ads will grow in relevance more and more, while TV ads will be mostly reserved for young kids and people in their 40s.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/jodecideion?feature=mhum TheWon and Only

Namco seems like they want to kill the franchise already. Naruto is dead in Japan! So now the want to milk it in the west! How about just add some DLC to Storm 2 for some months. Then in early 2012 release the follow up to Storm 2. At the rate the anime will be at the point of the GNW!

    • http://www.facebook.com/Robborboy Paul ‘Chinny’ Chinn

Naruto is dead in Japan? What?

    • Aara_Malik_Davoodi

Naruto’s not dead in Japan at all, dude

    • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

Lol, naruto dead in japan O_o?

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

Isnt Naruto still the 2nd best selling manga series in Japan this year with an anime that is still long running? I think worldwide it may be more popular than One Piece…And at most 3-5 Naruto games come out each year by different companies.

    • shion16

      you cant be serious!
their sales are the closest ones to one piece (its a big difference but its second place)

  • http://twitter.com/Megawarrior345 Elle

Naruto is reaching Dragonball Z territory a.k.a. being over saturated.

    • ChaosPaladinFayt

that was a loooooong time ago.

      • http://twitter.com/Megawarrior345 Elle

        lol

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_P5I5ZDAC5VTHUOOLMEGGS7S2MY Shinsu Yokoshimi

Not really, why? Because the story is going allowing new characters and content to be presented in future Naruto games. DBZ is over-milked beyond all reason and its the same deal since the story has been said and done with years ago.

  • MisterNiwa

Where is my One Piece: Grand Adventure DX Zero for PS3 where you can create your own Pirate crew and start in either the East / West / South or Noth Blue and fight your way to Unicon to fight the new Pirate King Monkey D. Luffy?
And on your way you meet many foes and friends that will eventually join you to be the bestestestest Pirate Crew on the whole Grand Line.

Man, why doesn’t anybody do me a favor and make this come true?

    • ChocolateBar999

Because Unlimited Adventure bombed in the US and the franchise’s marketability is not as strong outside Japan

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Chris-Blankman/100001398933645 Chris Blankman

Where’s my One Piece game that doesn’t suck?*

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_P5I5ZDAC5VTHUOOLMEGGS7S2MY Shinsu Yokoshimi

New installment? New gameplay engine? New content?…Hmmm, interesting. I’ll keep an eye out for this. It’s either a sequel to UNS2 or some whole other deal.

  • [The Hunter] Doomrider

As long as it has great bosses, new content and is made by CC2, I’m in.

Could this be the 3DS installment of Ultimate Ninja?

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_P5I5ZDAC5VTHUOOLMEGGS7S2MY Shinsu Yokoshimi

When has CC2 ever involved their Naruto creations within the DS? Doubt they would start now. It’s probably the sequel to Accel 3/UNH3 since its been passed a full year since the release which was December 10, 2009.

      • [The Hunter] Doomrider

That doesn’t mean that Bandamco doesn’t want to publish CC2 Naruto games in the 3DS though. But I guess we’ll see!

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_P5I5ZDAC5VTHUOOLMEGGS7S2MY Shinsu Yokoshimi

This is probably true in theory, but I believe in one of the behind the scenes UNS2 videos, CC2 said that they always stuck with Sony and their game consoles and will keep doing so. Of course with Namco and the 360 they wanted and were able to expand their UN franchise out more. So I guess its possibly the 3DS isn’t out of the question, of course this is just in theory. But like you, I look forward in seeing how it all ends up :D

  • Shuryou

I hate the Anime. I hate the Manga. But I’ve always enjoyed the games by a lot. They must have some formula that works with me better than the Anime and Manga and I’m glad they’re going forth with it.

  • karasuKumo

It sounds like a sequel to the Ultimate Ninja (the 2.5D PS2 ones) titles, if it was PSP it would be “Ultimate Ninja Heroes” and if it was a Storm follow up it should have Storm in the title (unless it’s completely new). I personally believe it’s a PS3 Ultimate Ninja title, it would make sense for it to be released in 2011 since Ultimate Ninja 5 was released quite a while ago. Hopefully it has a decent story length and doesn’t start right at the beginning of Shippuden, I’ve rescued Gaara enough times now XD.

Or it is the 3DS title and it will be the 2.5D style of the PS2 titles. I really hope it’s for the PS3. Portable Naruto games are usually horrid. Finally if you don’t like that they are releasing more Naruto games don’t buy them, simple! Don’t complain about it like it actually effects you because it really doesn’t.

  • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

Well, honestly, i wouldnt mind an ultimate ninja on a portable O.O, hope is for psp

  • http://twitter.com/Lordvaynard Vaynard

Getting on the hype train!!!! Naruto UNS2 is awesome, but some lackings on the gameplay shows a newbie side from CC2. Replenish the chakra when your life gone down below 50%? WTF? And some other things like the gorgeous but ridiculously imba Awakening. Please CC2, bring a hardcore game with a cool online system, the lobby from UNS2 is horrible and has much lag.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_P5I5ZDAC5VTHUOOLMEGGS7S2MY Shinsu Yokoshimi

CC2′s Naruto games have always been casual, they even said so themselves and they want it to stay that way. That much isn’t going to change. So that’s not really a newbie side since the causal audience is more larger than the hardcore audience. Its more of a marketing side.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Robborboy Paul ‘Chinny’ Chinn

I would really love another Ubisoft Naruto game. Hey Ubi, why don’t you get on that instead of ruining Splinter Cell more?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000400896873 Danny ‘Nome’ Delic

Sorry, but I really think that the Naruto-Ubi games sucked (IMO). So instead of ruining the Naruto brand, they could ruin some of their own brands.

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

Ubisoft probably ditched their access to the franchise or something. Didnt they have some recent thing where they were only going to focus on their major franchises and ignore everything else (making them all annual as well?)

Inazuma Eleven x Naruto? I like your way of thinking.

It provably something to do with the move or kenict because impact sounds more like a game that involves moving
