By Spencer . January 6, 2011 . 1:56am

imageSquare Enix working on with Feelplus and Kouichi "Isuke" Yotsui who worked on Strider for Capcom. The game was unveiled at E3 under the name Necromachina and slated for release in 2010 on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Nechromachina was a no-show last year, but it’s still in development. Now going by the Japanese name, Moon Diver, we’ll see Necrom – I mean Moon Diver sometime this spring.

If you don’t remember what Moon Diver is check out this trailer.

    Finally!! An update!!

This game and Hard Corps Uprising are the PSN games that I really anticipate ever since they were first announced. Here’s hoping that both games won’t disappoint.

    • Testsubject909

It looks nice and crisp enough, but the pictures here are confusing me a bit as to what sort of game this is…

Though, I will say, I join you in your excitement for Hard Corps.

yeah i’m with you on this finally an update. I’ve been waiting on this longer than x-men i just wan an release date.

i want a Strider 3D game in the same vein as Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden ^^

    do it capcom.

Strider is 2d, plain and simple. Unless somebody like Hideki Kamiya was making it, i don’t want the franchise to turn into yet another generic hack-n-slash-QTE abomination.

      • PrinceHeir

is Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden a generic hack n slash QTE?

Strider CAN make it to 3D. its just a matter who is behind it. i would rather if the DMC3 team or even Hideki Kamiya himself directs the game.

The Itagaki Ninja Gaiden games are not even the shadow of the original nes games. Devil May Cry 2 and 4 were quite mediocre games. So, once more, nothing is safe regarding 3D action games these days. Knowing Capcom they would probably give it to, sigh, another lousy western developers. So once more, NO THANKS.

          • PrinceHeir

lol how was DMC4 a mediocre game? the DMC3 team basically made it, the combat is much more fluid than DMC3, you can switch to different style’s at the same time, and the combo’s are much more crazy than ever. the only bad thing about it is the lack of unique bosses, too much backtracking and lack of story development(we basically learned nothing except that there was Nero who inherited some of Sparda’s blood) otherwise it’s a great game.

DMC4 is basically getting the same hate that MGS2 did(main character taking a backseat) all of the new features the fans never acknowledge in these games.

maybe capcom might learn once DMC fails and might start back at developing their own beloved IP’s im still shocked Ninja Theory is developing a game, Dante smoking just shows you how the developer never cared for the series and are only using the brand to draw people in.

The combat more fluid in DMC4? More fluid than DMC3? Are you being serious here?

          • PrinceHeir

lol did you even check the combo videos?

check this and see how the combo system in DMC4 is probably the best in the series.

especially dante switching Styles in realtime now that’s badass.

people are just blinded because dante is not the main character in this game.

  • Xekyo

wow first time i’ve seen this. it looks awesome. the graphics and artwork for this look beautiful and gameplay doesn’t look half bad either. i’m sure this’ll be a top seller for the PSN. i’ll be looking out for this one.

  • Oh yeah I remember seeing Moon Diver. Looked really neat and an enjoyable online game so I’m quite looking forward to the multiplayer Strider-esque game :D

  • Justinzero

I hope it isn’t mind-numbingly easy like Strider 2 was.

    • ECM

Says the guy that used the infinite continues to barrel through the game–go back and 1cc it, then tell me how “mind-numbingly easy” it was. (It’s a bloody arcade game, slick, the first Strider was a joke, too, if you just kept hitting “continue” like a dyspeptic meth head.)

(And don’t tell me you 1cc’ed it within an hour of buying it because we both know that’s a filthy lie, ice-dweller!)

  • HarryHodd

    Excited for this.
