Get A Dose Of 3D Dungeon Crawling With Class Of Heroes 3D

By Spencer . January 9, 2011 . 4:31pm

Acquire, as we reported earlier, is bringing the 2D Class of Heroes games to Nintendo’s 3D handheld. The Class of Heroes games are Wizardry-lite titles with a school setting and a plethora of races. If you want half-human / half-dragon characters in your party this is your kind of game.

With Class of Heroes 3D x 3D, Acquire wants to bring the Class of Heroes world into the third dimension. It looks like the action, dungeon crawling and combat, takes place on the glasses-free 3D screen on top. Perhaps, we’ll have 3D trees leaping out of the screen or enemies leaping out when they attack?

Class of Heroes 3D x 3D does not have a release date at this time.

I was wondering what this was. I like the art and premise for these games but I’m not fan of first person dungeon crawling.

And Class of Heroes certainly wouldn’t be the place to give the genre another shot. Not… exactly the best Wizardry-like.

Popular enough to spawn several sequels though.

          I’ll give it that.

Looks like a standard 2D sprites dungeon crawler. I guess the 3D effect will be seeing the sprites stand in the field out of the screen, like in an object array stereogram.

The enemies on this game appear suddenly with no change of screen, im sure it will look pretty cool when they appear on the 3DS

Oh cool this is nice, the 3DS is in dire and utter need of more RPGs and this seems like an epic title for 2012 or so, since I would surely have a 3DS by then.

Ive always wanted to get into a Class of Heroes game but never seem to find out what other people though of it since, well I havent met anyone that plays them.

    This one looks nice.

You could always formulate your own opinion…

I could, but then Id only be playing Naruto and racing games and be exclusively a Sony gamer, lol.

          *sigh* smh

            See, lol.

Class of Heroes I doubt is your kind of tea. Unless you like games like Wizardy or Etrian Odyssey games, Class of Heroes is going to be very off putting. Since there is a lack of razzle dazzle, story is put on the back burner and they are generally unforgiving.

If I were you, I’d hope Shin Megami Tensei gets ported (or even better, enchanced) for the 3DS

The Nintendo DS will be getting RPG’s so just be paitent. Whenever they will be good is a different question altogether.

    Etrian Odyssey IV, please.

First Person Dungeon Crawlers = I’ll pass. The Scenery is pretty though.

I want my delicious anime characters in high-def 3d :D

Is this a brand new game? If its a port its uninteresting

And for the record the ds didnt have rpgs basically in the first 2 years of its life and look what happened. Theres already more jrpgs announced for the 3ds now, than basically at the beginning of any systems life ever

Wizardry-lite still means it’s dry, punishing and only fot those with high paitence levels.

I’m interested enough to give this a chance if it were ever localized and in the 20-30 price range. Well either way, I’m looking forward for more information on this one (port, new game, new features, etc.)
