BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Hits PSP And Nintendo 3DS On The Same Day

By Spencer . January 11, 2011 . 7:23pm

imageArc System Works is revving up for their first Nintendo 3DS game and it isn’t too far off from the Nintendo 3DS launch. The same day BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II comes out for PSP it will also be available on Nintendo 3DS.

As reported earlier, that day is March 31.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II has eighteen playable characters and a new Abyss mode. Well, that’s for the PSP version. It isn’t clear how or if the Nintendo 3DS release will differ from the PSP release.

  • Well, at least the CS2 patch is near for consoles.

    • PrinceHeir

really? if so that is awesome :D

i would rather buy a copy of the game though. i don’t like dl characters i prefer them in disc.

      • The sales of CS was far lower than CT’s sales, so I don’t think they can justify making a disc for it.

And it’ll probably be cheaper like this anyway.

        • PrinceHeir

but you never know. they did it back then with guilty gear(i know back then there was no way you can patch the game on consoles)

well it’s all good as long as we get it ^^

          • EDIT: Nevermind. Misunderstood you at the start.

          • PrinceHeir

well im just saying back then the guilty gear games can just be patch since the XX, X2, and reload versions are basically the same just more balance and characters. but the Accent Core was a different story. it’s probably the best in the series especially Accent Core Plus.

      • I would be furious if they made CSII a disc for consoles and changed their mind about the console patch. I am NOT buying another Continuum Shift. I already paid for two of their overpriced DLC characters and am perfectly willing to pay for a third. Asking me to buy a whole new disc, at this point, would be spitting in my face.

        • PrinceHeir

what im saying is that the physical disc only includes all the DLC characters, the updates and balance can be patch. i just want those DLC characters on disk instead of dl.

  • With the 3DS being region locked, all I can hope for is for Aksys to bring this over.

    • PurpleDoom

It all comes down to their 3DS plans. If they choose to do 3DS games, then this will probably come over (they’ve localized every BlazBlue game so far, after all – including the tiny DSiWare title. No reason to stop now, eh?)

  • HNNNNNG! Platinum is just so sweet with her smile and her tongue sticked out.. >_<

wonder when she finally will be added to the roster(I think she still isn't downloadable right?).

    • PurpleDoom

Not yet, Spring 2010 is the general time period. Aksys is usually quick to get DLC on the US store though, so once she pops up in the Japan store she should come out here one or two days after.

      • I think you mean Spring 2011, unless they’re using a TARDIS to do the patch.

        • PurpleDoom

Woops! My bad. This happens to me every year when the new year hits.

          • It’s cool. ^_^ I just can’t resist any opportunity to make a Doctor Who reference.

  • Well, I guess it will be easy to port psp games to the 3DS if they are able to get it on it same day. I wonder how fighting games will be on the device with D-pad placement and all. Can not wait to see.

  • Kris

I’m honestly a bit jealous of my portable-console-only friends on this one. CSII is shaping up to be everything CS should have been. If the portables get a cool limited edition, I might just cry, since console CS was devoid of bonuses. (Then, of course, I’d get it, because I’m a sucker for BlazBlue :p)

    • You do know about the patch, right? That’ll turn the console versions of CS into CSII.

      • Kris

I haven’t seen that confirmed yet. Have you? Can I see a link?

Was it ever announced or confirmed that BBCS would get II as a patch?

    • Yep. Mori himself confirmed it a long time ago.

      • FHOIW

Niiice. I thought it was mere speculation. Lol.

  • If the Nintendo 3DS version has the same features as the PSP version, then I will go for that one instead, seeing as the 3DS may be more suited for fighting games.

    • The 3DS is more suited for fighting games? Why, dont both the 3DS and PSP have the same control scheme setup now?
