Super Monkey Ball 3D Is A Week After Launch Title

imageWhile the Nintendo 3DS is only launching with eight games (ten if you count alternate versions of nintendogs + cats), third party publishers plan  to fill stores with more software in the coming weeks. Sega, for example, has Super Monkey Ball 3D scheduled for March 3, which is less than a week after the Nintendo 3DS launches in Japan.

Super Monkey Ball 3D has the world moving, labyrinth rolling, and banana grabbing action the series is known for. You can control AiAi and company with either the slide pad (aka analog stick) or motion control via the handheld’s tilt sensor.

Monkey Fight and Monkey Race, two mini-games from past Super Monkey Ball games, are also part of Super Monkey Ball 3D.

It appears Sega is setting a new low when it comes to Nintendo 3DS software prices. Super Monkey Ball 3D costs 4410 yen ($53) while the lowest priced launch title is 4,800 yen ($57).

  • After having just finished searching monkeys in Mass Effect, I can say that Im ready to experience monkeys in another form. Ive not played the Super Monkey Ball series before. Actually I hope the 3DS can support demos. I would be glad to try this game out, if it releases in America.

    • I’ve never played a Super Monkey Ball game before as well…I guess I should pick it up when it comes to the UK, but I’ll probably be too busy playing Pokemon Black =D

  • I hope all the levels don’t have the guard rails. Kinda ruins the challenge a little, imo.
