By Spencer . January 13, 2011 . 4:41pm

imageKonami, more specifically Kojima Productions, is searching for new staff for the next generation of the Metal Gear Solid series. A hiring site opened up with jobs for: planners, level designers, programmers, and computer graphic designers.

Planner positions range from game balance, to event design, to creating weapons and player actions. Programming jobs include a network position, someone who can develop the core system for game side and server side functions. There is also a game character programming job where an employee’s role is to create interesting characters, enemies, and boss characters for a 3D action game.

Jobs in the computer graphics category include creating event scenes, 3D models, concept art, special effects, and interface design.

Kojima Productions is currently working on Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for the Nintendo 3DS and Metal Gear Solid: Rising for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

  • As much as I love the MGS games (with the exception of MGS2), I wish Kojima would take the time to do something else for a bit and then, if he wants, go back to doing Metal Gear.

    • badmoogle

Yep i would also like to see him do something different. For example i would have been very curious to see a Silent Hill game developed by Kojima Productions.

      • PrinceHeir

actually iv’e been thinking about these as well, what if Kojima Productions directed the series, it would be alot better than the ones we’re getting, he can also call up suda 51 to team up, that would be the most bizarre silent hill game ever made O_O

        • badmoogle

I admit i’ve never played a Suda game before, his games somehow don’t really appeal to me.:/
But judging from what i saw from the trailer of Shadows of the Damned i’m not sure i’d want him near a Silent Hill game even though SOTD is a collaborative effort.

          • PrinceHeir

well you should start by playing killer 7, then No More Heroes.

actually his team made Fatal Frame 4, so yeah check that out if you want a taste of his horror skills.

shadows of the damned, he described it as a more Hard Rock version of his previous release, shinji mikami is also on board so yeah the game will kickass no matter how you look at it.

forgot to mention he actually created a game called “The Silver Case” it’s a detective style game. you’ll love that though it’s only available in PSX JP(which they have on their PSN store), there’s also a remake on it for the DS(don’t know why he still haven’t release it though, maybe a 3DS release?) so yeah you should try at least one of suda’s games. you’ll love them :D

    • Maybe something completely new would be better? I still feel we can get more of these series though…

  • So long as it’s a new story or a reboot. Peace Walker pretty much cleaned up anything left there could be in the Big Boss/Solid Snake storyline, I don’t see where they could fit a game unless they started with an entirely new cast.

    Just kidding make ZOE3 instead

    • PrinceHeir

nope. they still haven’t explained how big boss trained Sniper Wolf, how he save frank eager 3 times, and how he trained both solid snake and frank eager. the rise of outer haven, how he met naomi etc…

it will probaly 1 or 2 game about big boss before we know everything about the series, they can also remake the first 2 MG games from MSX, so yeah they have alot of ideas that can be used in future games.

but i would prefer a ZOE3, Snatcher and Policenauts sequel. there a must before kojima retires and the MG remakes also.

      • Ah the paradox we find ourselves in. The more answers we get, the more questions seem to crop up.

I would love to see a huge “History of Metal Gear”. Not as in the game production (though that would be awesome to be included) but the actual MG universe. I’m a sucker for backstories and with one so involving (and complex) as MG, I’d pay even a huge (reasonable) price for it.

I think Konami hinted that a ZOE 3 would eventually be coming. If a Snatcher and Policenauts sequel were to come, they should include the original (in original 2D and 3D modes), even if they plan to make the stories seperate to the orginal installments.

        • PrinceHeir

i actually want Snatcher and Policenauts in 2D but after playing Killer 7. i think they can make it like that with a cyberpunk setting.

so yeah kojima can do lots of ideas. sucks that konami is forcing him to work with the MGS(as much as i love to) he needs to continue his old works(ZOE3 this is TOP priority)

  • cmurph666

    ZOE3 PLZ!

    • Zero_Destiny

Oh GAWD yes!!! PS3 needs it! Loved those games.

  • Xeahnort

    Dear Kojima. Stop milking MGS.

    • badmoogle

At least it’s still his own baby…Can you imagine if Konami was to give it to someone like Double Helix?
Then we would all wish he was still milking it.

      • Sadly, that’s probably exactly what would happen if he ever left Konami.

    • OneOkami

It may not be his decision.

As long as a series retains it quality, (which I believe MGS has throughout the series) I am ok with any series getting more games. Ending it for the sake of ending it is stupid. That said I’m not for the “annualization” of a series like Activision does with their titles.

  • I guess Metal Gear Solid 4 for PSP2 is being worked on, I so can not wait! Oh and I bet an MGS5 port to and a reimagining of the Metal Gear series, except, with a female lead.

    • I will pursue your ideas with an angry mob. Especially the re-imagining of the series one.

  • Kojima-san doesn’t have to make Metal Gear any more.

  • Guest

Tell Konami to stop milking the MGS franchise. If kojima is not moving from there is because he doesn’t want to see the franchise go to some crap western developer. Just like it has happen to pretty much every single important konami franchise (Silent Hill, Contra, Rocket Knight Adventures, Castlevania)

    • Rocket Knight was fun!!!!

Anyway, the franchise isnt milked until after they give me my reimagining with the female lead. I demand it! They need for MGS to go out on a bang and a reimagining is the only way dude!

      • I am asking you to stop with that, please. The very concept of rebooting Metal Gear fills me with rage.

        • vadde939

As suprised as I am to admit it I’m actually gonna side with Tsuna on this one. I’d like to see a rebooting of Metal Gear too.

          • Excuse me. I have to go find my left lung. I think I just vomited it up.

          • vadde939

            Good luck with that ;)

      • Guest

The last rocket knight game, the downloadable one, is mediocre at best. Go play the first one for the genesis. Plataforming at it’s finest.

  • PrinceHeir

a remake of MG 1 and MG2 from MSX fully 3D as well as bring back the voice actors of the MGS series would be nice.

but above all, ZOE3, Snatcher, Policenauts is a must sequel :D

    • I have been wanting a 3D remake of MG1 and MG2 for ages (ever since the Gamecube version of MGS came out). Not only would they have sweet graphics but they could actually add cut-scenes and add some bosses with personality instead of “Shotgun” “Tank” “Machinegun Kid” and “Bulldozer”.

Oh man, seeing Solid Snake and Naked Snake meet for the first time (if they didn’t do so in Foxhound before SS was sent on the mission to Outer Heaven) would be epic.

Ugh…Now I’ve made myself more excited for a remake.

      • PrinceHeir

i would definitely want to see how Solid Snake got his bandanna, maybe Big Boss gave it to him due to his unparalleled skills among foxhound recruits, but Frank Eager was the first one(i think) to achieve the highest rank in foxhound. so maybe he has a code name Snake?(maybe Snake Zero? he is Null after all which means “Zero”) so yeah MGS is just too big of a franchise. that’s why i want him to either make sequels of his old works, ZOE, Policenauts, and Snatcher ^^

Metal Gear Solid 5, directed by Kojima. Can’t say I didn’t see this one coming.

  • RupanIII

My ideal, highly unlikely, probably unpopular scenario if they’re going to make more MGS: alternate/side canon (imo too much trying answer questions that didn’t need to/weren’t intended to be answered), return to classic camera/controls/more emphasis on stealth/tactics than shooting.
