So, Maybe We Will See More SNK Games On PlayStation Network

By Spencer . January 13, 2011 . 12:34pm

Recently, SNK released a slew of classic NeoGeo games on PlayStation Network with enhanced features such as online play and save states. But, what about the library of Xbox Live Arcade games from SNK including arcade ports of NeoGeo Battle Coliseum and KOF Sky Stage. Will we ever see those titles on PlayStation Network? Following reader requests, we asked Shinya Morishita from SNK Playmore if we would Trouble Witches Neo and other Xbox Live Arcade games on PlayStation Network too.

"Considering PS3 Versions of download games is always an option, if the reaction for titles such as The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match for example are very positive, PSN versions are not an impossibility,"  a representative from SNK Playmore USA replied.

We’ll have more answers from Morishita next week where he talks about NeoGeo Station, but deftly dodges our question about SNK Arcade Classics 0.

  • KOF 2002 UM being a possibility as long as they get a positive reaction?

How much positive do I need to give SNK then and where do I mail it? Does my wallet count? Just take my money!

    • Code

      I think the irony is the position reaction involves buying it on 360 sadly opo’ I’m starting to hate when companies use that line, it’s such an arm-twist to the consumer opo;

Whats also stupid is 360 is like dead in Japan well at least compared to PS3 sales so not putting in on PSN is limiting their sales potential in Japan and overseas. These guys are just idiots this gen

        • NeoTechni

Agreed. Its almost as if they do it just to make us bend over backwards to prove we love their games.

    • They didn’t even bother localizing the various Playstation 2 compilations they did. It’s a stupidity issue, not a money issue.

      • Which ones are you talking about? I have the Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug, World Heroes, Art of Fighting, two Fatal Fury, and KOF Orochi Anthologies for my PS2. I know they didn’t bring localize the NESTS Anthology, but those games are all available individually for PS2. Is there a compilation that I’m forgetting that you’re talking about?

      • godmars

Well, some of us do have 60GB PS3s.

Even though they now have 160GB HDD. At least mine does :p

  • I love me some Special K’ Cereal!

So are we going to expect the answers for the reader-submitted questions by next week or is it a different interview? I’m just too excited that interview, hopefully that would be it.

    • It’s the reader submitted one, we’re trying to press SNK for some more answers though.

Yo they want $80 for that SNK bundle thats craaaazy.

All I really want is KoF 2002 UM & KoF 98 UM and Garou Mark of the Wolves , NeoGeo BC

    • MrSirFeatherFang

I just got a 360 and Garou was one of the games I was looking forward to buying. Since I already did… *sigh* I should have waited for something like this, but I digress. I’m 100% with you there :)

    • PrinceHeir

      listen to this man ^^

i want KOF 2002 and Neo Geo please

KOF XI can be an option though.

and where the hell is KOF XIII? hopefully they release it this year ;p

  • NipponjiRurouniJSRF

    Garou Mark of the Wolves!

    • MrSirFeatherFang

Hell yeah!!!! I love this game lol

  • KOF Sky Stage is available to play in NEOGEO HEROES Ultimate Shooting…

    • Yes, but there’s a separate console version too… and readers here always ask about console versions…

  • Last Blade 1/2. I really like them, and absolutely no one played Capcom Vs SNK 2 without falling in love with Hibiki.

I felt pretty bad for hammering against the Neo-Geo classics, mostly because they were really -really- well executed ports. They were just for the most part games that people didn’t really want. Not that I just want re-releases of Fighters and Metal Slug, but if it’s only one or the other.. that’s a pretty simple choice.

  • Wait, someone explain this logic to me. Depending on how well received a game is on 360 depends on if it has a chance at psn release? That’s basically what I got from that quote. What about those who don’t plan to purchase for 360 or people like me who majority of competition reside on ps3?

“…but deftly dodges our question about SNK Arcade Classics 0.”

Yikes! Anyways, thanks for giving that question an ask. Still very much looking forward to the interview here.

  • Here’s my list: Blazing Star, Breakers Revenge, Far East of Eden: Kabuki Klash, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The Last Blade series, Neo Geo Cup ’98: The Road to the Victory, Ninja Master’s, Pulstar, Sengoku 3, Shock Troopers , Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad, SNK vs Capcom: SVC Choas, Super Sidekicks series, Super Dodge Ball, Twinkle Star Sprites and Waku Waku 7.

Don’t care if some of these weren’t made by SNK, I still want them :D

Please SNK, listen the fans and launch a port of KOF 2002UM.
