image Between the launch date of the Nintendo 3DS and E3 in June, Reggie Fils-Aime said the Nintendo 3DS will have over 30 games in stores. Genres will range from action, shooter, fighting, racing, family, and RPG. Yes, Reggie said RPG.

  • Rather than just throwing the number out there, they should have showed the titles or something, or just listed their names. lol.

But 30 fast is good, hopefully after the 30 come out it doesnt experience the usual midsummer drought that all systems experience.

    • Serge73

Well, they may not know what 30 will make it at this point. And if they mention specific titles they are unsure about, and then don’t make it, fans cry about it, etc.

  • Serge73

I hope they don’t mean the OoT remake. I love that game, but I hope they mean more of a traditional RPG type game…

  • Fingers crossed for a Final Fantasy V and VI remake that was once mentioned.

    • Shadow_Raskolnik

Same here, although I doubt we would see them anytime soon. However if the 3DS proves to be as popular as the original DS then I think chances of seeing those remakes could be pretty high.

    • Tom_Phoenix

A VII remake for the 3DS would be nice too. =)

      • Zero_Destiny

More like a Dragon Quest VII remake would be nice lol. But yeah if square went out and had Matrix software only make two remakes like they did with the DS then I think I’ll take VI and VII over V and VI, but if I could have it my way I’d have them make all 3 (since V,VI,VII are all masterpieces) XD

        • V is a love it or hate it affair.. However, VI is universal :P

          • Zero_Destiny

That’s because it’s the best one and is were the series peaked!!! XD At least that’s what I think.

          • If only more people played it ^_^

        • Yes a DQVII remake would be great but we can also expect Before crisis Final Fantasy VII.

      • OBJECTION! *points fingers*

I’d rather have that on full HD console :3 No more worries about the 3DS dying during a boss fight

        • Tom_Phoenix

Square Enix already debunked the idea of remaking VII on a HD console on the grounds that it would just cost way too much to make. Heck, XIII was a completely original game, yet it suffered from “corridor syndrome” and a great deal of cut content precisely due to the demands imposed on the project by the visuals.

Since it is much, MUCH cheaper to develop for handheld systems, not to mention that Square Enix has been releasing remakes on them for the past several years now, a remake for the 3DS is the most realistic option.

      • In that case I would prefer a Chrono Cross or Chrono Trigger remake like that Chrono Resurrection fan project.

        • Zero_Destiny

Yes Chrono Cross or Chrono Break on 3DS, my dreams could finally come true XD!!!

    • i would prefer new games…

      • We need the successor of Jump Superstars

      • I guess Square will make Final Fantasy Type-1 for 3DS but I’m hoping for a new Baten Kaitos.

        • PurpleDoom

I think the Type series will stay on PSP. They wouldn’t want to suffer from the issue the Tales series has had, where they establish a fanbase on one platform and then do a sequel on something else…

        • Zero_Destiny

Oh Baten Kaitos I loved that series too. If only the 3DS would deliver and give us that canceled Baten Kaitos DS XD Now I’m hoping for games series that haven’t been talked about and pushed aside in the business for years, curse you Kush how dare you get my hopes up with talks of Chrono and Baten Kaitos!!! lol

    • PurpleDoom

I think it was pretty clear that he was talking about virtual console releases in that interview… for whatever reason the interviewer posted it as “DS remakes of Final Fantasy V & VI delayed for technical reasons” and now everyone thinks they’re inevitable.

    • Yeah without the chibis man xD

  • I want Dragon Quest :( Oh well VI will do!

    • Zero_Destiny

But VI is the best!!! What more could you want
edit: Thinking about it I want a VII remake on 3DS XD

      • I know I may sound like a wuss but as long as the difficulty is toned down a bit to DQV(NDS) level then I’m all for it!

  • Lightthrower

Nothing in the lineup interests me for now… I hope the Shin Megami game doesn’t get pushed in 2012 o_O.

    • PurpleDoom

The faster I get my Shin Megami Tensei, the better. I’m still wondering what the main series game is going to end up being… I’ll have a total love/hate relationship with it if it ends up being a port of Strange Journey. Because that would be so lazy, but Strange Journey is one of my favorite games EVER.

    • Its included in the 30 so therefore it wont be pushed to 2012

      • He’s talking about the planned mainline game, not Devil Survivor, which is a spin-off.

  • Oh yes, the Nintendo PR at least confirmed that we are getting Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked from Atlus, probably be my first game.

  • Zero_Destiny

Nintendo using the word RPG? I haven’t seen that happen in years. lol Don’t believe me look at the Dragon Quest IX box, This ADVENTURE game … Dragon Quest is from a long line of ADVENTURE games, You are the HERO in this new ADVENTURE game, etc XD Hopefully by RPG they don’t mean action RPG’s or Zelda. But than again Zelda at launch is a good thing.

    • PurpleDoom

Zelda won’t be around at launch unless they want there to be a huge discrepancy between the American and Japanese releases. I think it’s safe to go by the Japanese list on Nintendo’s Japanese website, they have releases sorted out by general timeframe there.

      • Zero_Destiny

Don’t remind me XD I’m hoping since it’s launch window Zelda 3DS will only take 2 or 3 months to come out though. I kind of meant that.

  • PrinceHeir

    nice2 :D

though i’ll just wait for RE and MGS games thank you very much ^^

  • kupomogli

Too bad it’s mostly ports, a few from the DS itself as well. Yet being Nintendo and not Sony, people would still throw praise even if nothing but ports. I’m interested in Mega Man Legends 3, but I’ll get that when it’s under $20 and then pick the 3DS once the 3DSXL comes after the 3DSEX(extra battery life,) 3DSLite, and 3DSXL are released(we know it’ll happen.)

  • Hoping for some fun JRPG style 3DS games for launch :o)

Ordered my console on Amazon as soon as I got the email from them saying it was available :o)

Frustrating it’s out the same time as Yakuza 4 though, I’ll have to work out an effective time split.

  • These are the rumoured games the UK (and Europe) will be reciving:
