First Screenshots Of Rodea The Sky Soldier

By Spencer . January 20, 2011 . 12:20pm

imageKadokawa Games finished up a press conference in Japan where they unveiled Rodea the Sky Soldier. As mentioned earlier, this project is being developed by Prope and scenario writer Takumi Miyajima.

You play as Rodea in the game who can soar through the skies and shoot wherever you point the Wii remote on the screen. The flight fantasy game is also in development for Nintendo 3DS, but Kadokawa Games didn’t mention anything about that version.

These screenshots are all from the Wii version of Rodea the Sky Soldier. Yes, we’re confident that will be the game’s English title.

That guy looks a bit like a human version of Sonic.

    • True, but it looks fun. 2011 seems to be the year that the Japanese Gaming Industry gets its act together.

    • I was kinda thinking that initially, but I’ll bite. Whether or not it’ll be something new and refreshing or just Sonic in the sky is different question altogether.

Love the art style, love how the gameplay sounds, and LOVE that this is coming to NA.

  • I think this is shaping up very well. It looks great and sound promising. Plus a very likely NA release to boot.

  • Not sure what’s going on, can’t tell how it plays. I wonder how similar the 3DS vs Wii version is, would be super interesting if we see a lot of Wii -> 3DS ports hmm…

Love what I am seeing so far. Here’s hoping for more gameplay details soon.

I am really loving Kadokawa games right now. If they decide to localize Earth Seeker (or let someone else localize it), I’ll let them have what’s left of my soul.

    MC guy looks short.
    But looks interesting.

A little Sky Gunner-ish, eh? (Yes, that’s a (very) good thing.)

Yay!!! I’ll get too play the game, I love when Yuji Naka makes a new game (and not a SONIC). Totally love Billy Hatcher and hope this one will be just as fun, and it’ll come out in America O ho ho ho!!! Nice, not sure which version to get I guess I’ll have to wait and see (and hope I have a 3DS when that version comes out lol). Also I’m not 100% sure but didn’t Takumi Miyajima write the story for Tales of the Abyss? That could be interesting.
