Vic Viper Appears In Scribblenauts, But Not Our Scribblenauts

By Spencer . January 26, 2011 . 7:14pm

Konami picked up Scribblenauts and localized it for Japan as Maxwell’s Marvelous Notepad. Japan got the Nintendo DS game this week and players discovered Konami went a step beyond translating.

Manaka from LovePlus is in the Japanese version. The same player plugged in words for the other two LovePlus ladies Nene and Rinko, but they aren’t in Scribblenauts. Snake and Metal Gear aren’t either.

The Vic Viper is in, though!

rar, is there anything that can’t be solved with Love Plus and Vic Viper >w<~?

  • Exkaiser

So jelly of Maxwell’s Vic Viper.

  • Pichi

That’s the type of easter eggs I like to see for a localization like this.

  • There is also snake in it!!

  • Chow

Someone in the localization team likes a certain girl more than the others.

    • Tokyo Guy

I think it’s just that Konami is desperate to get more sales. The other games released by this developer have all been met with bargain bin status immediately after release.

Seriously, I think this should have been retooled into an educational game for learning English grammar.

      • Code

Because educational games about learning english and grammar have never found themselves in a bargain bin >w<'

  • Tokyo Guy

I preface this by noting I don’t mean this to be offensive in the slightest. I can think of one user on this site who will definitely be getting the game because of the Love Plus thing.

  • Ren

Didn’t Kojima post a picture of Old Snake in the game?

  • Should have put in the whole Parodius crowd.

  • Akirap

Kojima-san tweeted recently a picture of Old Snake on Scribblenauts.
