Deathsmiles Patch Addresses Slowdown And Replay Issues

imageIf you own Deathsmiles log onto Xbox Live. Aksys just released a patch that addresses several bugs.

 

The Xbox 360 shooter, Aksys says, is now running at optimum capacity with slowdown tweaks and a fixed de-sync issue for replays.

 

Deathsmiles was released in North America last summer. Europe gets the Cave developed title this week care of Rising Star Games.

      I don’t mind a little slowdown assist saving my behind either when things get too crazy… I don’t can’t manage to 1cc even on lvl 1, I could never not lose a life when facing the last boss..

      Sigh, still no patch for Dodonpachi Daioujou.. I know the port wasn’t done by Cave, but they still should fix it..

        Yeah I played Deathsmiles at my friends (there’s a level of irony there being the person with the Japanese console) and I could completely understand. Cave games are like that, I’m not 1cc any Cave games any time soon >ww<;), I knew it had issues, but I was kind of hoping I might find it at a decent price, but can't seem to find it in stock, or less then $80 opo; Still no patch out for it yet though?

          Nah, no patch unfortunately, and price never dropped.. you’d be lucky to find a good price on ebay occasionally, but that’s still hard. DFK’s HD upgrade looks better but I prefer DOJ’s art style (Guwange). The “initial” load time and the messy menu suck, but other than that I loved DOJ.

          Yea, it’s ironic the US Deathsmiles is region locked once you got a Jpn 360.. definitely a very hard one.. how the heck could people 1cc Lvl 999 and get to bloody Jitterbug, just like I could never get to the true boss in Mushihime-sama’s black label DLC.. Guwange’s arrangement is definitely easier when you could deflect bullets w/ the barrier..

            rar, damn I was really hoping to pick up DOJ too, because like unless it has game bustin’ glitches, long load times are a big deal to me opo I’ll have to keep my eyes open and maybe a cheaper copy will turn up, because checking around yesterday best I could find was $89.

            Yeah it’s kind of funny how Deathsmiles worked out xpx; my friend who’s a big shmup fan ended up getting it, and I played it with him. He showed me Level 999 seriously you shot one enemy and the game’s like I GOT SOME REVENGE BULLETS FOR YOUR REVENGE BULLETS *screen fills* I can’t imagine 1ccing it xpx; but the internet has taught there’s always SOMEONE who exists if nothing else for, then to dismantle the most impossible of games, lol >www<;

            The game busting glitches don’t occur in DOJ unless you’re 1cc’ing the game and going into the 2nd loop. Then there’s some pretty lame shenanigans if I recall, but it’s been a long while since I remember reading about them.

            The loading time is horrible though, and since there’s no pretty souped up HD mode like Deathsmiles/Galuda2 etc, it’s advisable to just play DOJ vanilla on PS2, which is a pretty great port. Also the mame build is pretty viable now, and has been for a couple months I guess.

    I’m currently renting Deathsmiles, the slowdown has saved me several times >_<

    Wait a sec… by “optimizes slowdown” do they mean more or less slowdown? I’m asking because quite a few shmup fans were complaining that there was not enough slowdown when the game released. I’m no expert on this genre but in Touhou at least slowdown is the only thing that makes the game kinda playable on harder difficulties…

    If they actually “improved” the game by removing what little slowdown it has the difficulty is gonna sky rocket.

    with pc we can “optimizes” slowdown by changing the power options, that’s one way to survive in bullet hell.
    But with 360…

    I’m still a proud owner of the limited edition of this game. The faceplate of my 360 is just beautiful.

      Prob is can you take it off once you put it on? They never really get the US faceplates right, most of the time it’s a bit too tight, and my Deathsmiles one was really tight (took me like 10 mins to carefully pull it out), I’ve heard the same from many others. The FF13 one was a bit tight too but not as bad as this one..

        Hmmmm. I dunno. I haven’t tried pulling it off. I haven’t plan on changing it for a long time.

          I have tried with my Deathsmiles faceplate. It comes off without a problem. pain to get on snugly however.
