Deus Ex: Human Revolution Augmented With A Release Date

By Ishaan . March 8, 2011 . 11:02am

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was originally supposed to release by spring, but that didn’t quite pan out. Square Enix now have the game scheduled for a summer release.

North America will get Human Revolution first on August 23rd. The U.K. will get it three days later on August 26th. The game comes in regular and Augmented editions, with the latter costing $10 more, and including a 40-page art book, motion graphic novel, and bonus “Making of” DVD along with the game’s soundtrack.

Spencer recently had a chance to try Deus Ex: Human Revolution out at a Square Enix event; you can read his hands-on impressions here and our latest interview with the game’s director here.

  • On one hand, sad that it got delayed.

    On the other hand, this means that I get a bit of a reprieve from March releases. This also means my sorry, lazy self can hurry up and play Invisible War before playing Human Revolution.

    (Yes, I know. It’s a prequel, therefore Invisible War isn’t required. I don’t care, I’d feel off playing the third game without finishing both before it.)

      Why would you be sad it got delayed? It just means they put that much more work into it so its a better game

      • Eh, sad because even though I need to beat IW, I was still looking forward to playing it soon.

        Don’t misunderstand me though. I’m definitely happy over the better QA (implied by delay in the first place) it’ll get as a result. =)

    the Augmented Edition is only 10 more then the regular? Usually it’s much more. And with motion graphic novel they mean an animation right?

    Just…just forget you, 2011. You’re offering me all this stuff, and not giving me the money I need to get it. Like bringing a beggar to a banquet and then telling him he’s only allowed condiments. ;_;

    • Kris

      But sometimes, there are some amazing condiments, and later, you might be able to pick up some leftovers :)
      It’s all about patience!

      • Yui

        Trueché! But condiments won’t sustain me for long, and if I don’t last long enough, I won’t have the sustenance to survive until the leftovers start trickling in my direction! ;_;
        (This metaphor has just gone down the drain now. :D)

  • This better be the real release date. I’ll buy it on release with the pre-order(undecided if I wanna go for Steam or PS3 atm). I don’t think I’ll touch it for a while since Catherine & Disgaea 4 will keep me busy the whole Summer/Fall. =( In time I guess…

  • thebanditking

    I knew it was delayed…..again. Lets hope these delays indicate an increase in quality, even if that rarely is the case.

  • Arcm

    Thank God there were too many games coming out in March to May that I had to pick up so this is a little easier on my wallet since this game was delayed a bit.

    Now back to playing Y’s and Hyper Dimenstion Neptunia, before Legend of Heroes, Yakuza 4, Dissidia 012, and 3rd Birthday come out….

  • AnimusVox

    I didn’t realize how much it was getting pushed back, that breaks my heart.

  • Phlo

    The original Deus Ex was pushed back a lot, so I found all of the delays on this to be weirdly reassuring.

  • PrinceHeir

    i can’t wait for this!!! :)

    finally it’s coming up oh man you don’t know how excited i am :D

    will probably get the augmented edition for sure :P

    i know it’s way too early but hopefully they make more in the future(they did say it was a 10 year franchise) with the same black and gold pallete and Adam Jensen as the main character. he’s sooo badass :P

    this along with Catherine, Tekken Tag 2, The Last Guardian and Ico Collection, Shadows of the Damned, Uncharted 3, Dark Souls, Yakuza 4, The 3rd Birthday, Dissidia 012 are my most Anticipated games this 2011 :)

    add other japanese games like Tales of Grace F, Atlier Meruru and so

    soooo many games :)

    I am so glad a solid release date has finally been announced. I will be pre-ordering the Augmented Edition for my PC. I am glad it is only $10 more.

  • Ah so, ten days after my birthday… *wink*
