PlayStation 3 owners craving a shoot ‘em up should fire up their Japan region PlayStation Network account next week. Cyberfront, publisher of Mamoru-Kun on PlayStation 3, will release a demo on PSN.

While G. Rev released the game for Xbox 360 last year, Cyberfront put DLC characters on disc, added new modes, and upgraded the graphics. You can see a comparison between the arcade port and PS3 version here. The demo has three characters, two stages, and the new Katsugeki mode made for the PlayStation 3 version. Grab the file on Thursday, March 17.

Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta comes out on PlayStation 3 two weeks later on March 31.

Consider it done! I hope the PS3 version will have Luca in it too >w<' Geez, that's not a bad sized demo either 3 characters and 2 stages.

argh.. really liked the 360 game since it was kinda like Kiki KaiKai, now even more so w/ wide screen, but even w/ all the extra contents (artbook/ost/costumes), I’m not sure if I want to double dip.. the game was fun though.. too many shump as it is, Muchi Pork/Pink Sweet just came today :) I’d refrain, a Jpn 3DS alrdy cost an arm and a leg..

I actually “go to Japan” at least once a week. For PSN if not just to see what’s going on in Home there. Just picked up a VR model of the SDF-1.

But as far as this game goes, hope it looks better in motion than the stills suggest.

I can’t wait! I’m a little wary about the price at the moment though…
