Arch rivals Bahamut and Leviathan can take down Tiberius together if you purchase a Hard Corps: Uprising downloadable content pack.

The Leviathan DLC which Konami released on Xbox Live today makes the enemy character an ally. While Leviathan only has one weapon slot, he has a backflip grenade throw and a sliding attack. Screenshots those attacks are below plus pictures of the two other DLC characters Harley Daniels and Sayuri.

Like the other downloadable characters, Leviathan costs 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50). Hard Corps: Uprising costs 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15) and will be released on PlayStation Network next week for the same price.

You could tell they’d have more characters, just based on the shop, so this isn’t unexpected >ww<'

Yeah. Buying her is like unlocking a secret Shinobi game within a Contra game.

It’s just a little annoying that two of the four characters they show in the opening who are clearly protagonists are purchaseable DLC as opposed to in-game unlockables.

      Seriously, that’s just bullshit.

How does this compare to some of the other Contra/Metal Slug games? It looks really cool

It’s an excellent game. I think ASW really captured everything that defined Contra, all the while adding in some of their own fun elements. (air dashing / double jumping. Maybe those were in previous Contras, but this is the first one i’ve played with those features) I haven’t gotten terribly far (more on that in a sec) but it’s been excellent from what I’ve played.

Now that all said, this game is effing hard. Stupidly effing hard. I have a lot more trouble with this than I ever did with NES Contra. Have also had to quit a few times before I ended up throwing a controller at a wall, and it’s not like I actually do that (said raging) normally. O_o

So if you can get past the really high difficulty and the above average price point, it’s definitely a good buy. :D Great graphics (beautiful sprites), great soundtrack, and downright fun gameplay.

Leviathan has been on the network for over a week now, it didn’t just come out today.

I’m pretty sure the PR for the PSN release said it would be $9.99, but I would have to check again.

Yes I’m pretty sure that’s right, too.
