By Spencer . March 16, 2011 . 11:07am

Arcana Heart 11When Aksys first announced Arcana Heart 3 for North America they set the digital release for a spring timeline. More specifically, the gals fighting game is slated for April, a bit we learned by speaking with a representative from Aksys.

In North America, Arcana Heart 3 will only be released on PlayStation 3 as a PlayStation Network download. Zen United, the European publisher, will distribute Arcana Heart 3 to stores for PS3 and Xbox 360.

  • Did I miss the price? Im going to guess < $29.99. I might get it if reception is good, I think it has great graphics based on what I saw.

    • I believe Aksys quoted 29.99 on announcement a few weeks ago.

      • PurpleDoom

They later said that it wasn’t finalized, although they could stick with it. I think that’s rather likely, actually.

        • Yes, the price will indeed be $29.99 :)

          • Good to know.

This isn’t Belisarius over on the forums, is it?

          • Haha, naw, that’s Ben, our editor. I’m Bo, the associate producer :)

          • I think Ben also has a siliconera account, and his avatar is the same smiling guy that is in Aksys’s forums

And JustaGenericUser said, “Blessed be AkSys, may their future be filled with milk and honey.” And it was so.

If you haven’t yet, you can still pick up the first one on the cheap. Yes it is PS2 but you will get a feel for the combat, which is a bit different than some of the other franchises.

  • About time I heard about a release. I’ve been checking Aksys’s site every so often to get a release date and was coming up empty handed. They were saying ‘spring’ for the longest time.

I’d rather have the disc release. How big will the DD file be?

    • Nite

Probably around 2GB. I would like to import the disc version as well, but that isn’t expected to come out til June. I might just wait anyways because I’ll have too many games to play at the end of this month. Hard Corps, Moon Diver, and a whole bunch of PSP games. Then there’s Mortal Kombat next month that I’m still on the fence about.

      • neo_firenze

To clarify… the European disc version isn’t expected until summer. The Japanese disc version has been out a couple months already.

I played the MK demo it was ….ok. Don’t understand what the hype is all about; other than the new X-ray supers it didnt really feel all that much improved gameplay wise. Still clunky as ever.

  • … i need some psn cards T_T why does amazon can’t give the codes unless you are in the US!? is so unfair

    • Zero_Destiny

We were talking about it before on an XenoGears thread. It seems that at least people in Europe can buy US PSN cards. I don’t know about South America though.

      • I can’t buy directly from psn because my credit card needs to be from the US (it ask for the state you are in), when i try amazon it tells me that my friking credit card must be from the US to if i want to buy it. [email protected][email protected][email protected]!I could get agarest wars because i friking went to the US by chance, and i knew the game was coming so i friking got myself a 50$ PSN card, and i can charge them no problem, THE PROBLEM IS GETTING THEM!! *ROAR HULK MODE* friking friking friking frik

        • Zero_Destiny

Yeah but the link I gave you talks about a guy who buys the cards in the US e-mails you the codes and you pay him via paypal. Now me living in the US means I don’t know how trust worthy that is and if you don’t want to do it I wouldn’t blame you. But all you need to do is to make an North American PSN account and get access to the PSN cards codes and your set. But yeah I wouldn’t blame you if you don’t trust a shady second-hand seller. And I don’t know if this guy does deals with South America or not since we were talking in terms of Europe. Still an option. There’s also the more expansive option of importing the European version. I do feel for you. :(

          • Blergh…. well, it seems that maybe in november or so, one of my parents will go to the US, i will have a chance there…

          • Zero_Destiny

lol I don’t blame you. It’s kind of sketchy. Just wanted to help in whatever way I can.

          • Lol yeah, thanks anyway for recomending me that xD

        • Importers like Play-Asia usually sell them but at a premium. Can’t say I’ve used for them that yet though, but Xenogears is pretty tempting…

  • Sweet, it’s being released on my birthday month. Better be on the 17th : )

My fighting stick will finally get some usage.

    • neo_firenze

Since PSN updates on Tuesdays, it’s not gonna be the 17th. Maybe you can get an early/late birthday present on April 12 or 19 ;)

And why would your fighting stick not be getting some MvC3 use? Unless you have 360/PS3 and chose the 360 version, that’s about the only good excuse for a fighting game fan!

      • Not quite the MvC3 fan, I’m afraid. I played it for around half an hour, and while I thought it was cool, there isn’t anyone I’d like to play (Besides Dante). So right now, I’m waiting for a price drop, and see which characters Capcom add as DLC.

    • Guest

      that sounds weird…

  • HarryHodd

Will be very nice to have a decent fighter to play without switching disks. Can’t wait.

  • any idea what Zen United’s price will be? I’ve got some family heading to the UK in the summer and I’m kinda curious if it’ll be in my price range.

    • Shops here are charging about £19.99 online so it’ll probably be £25 in-store which is just over $40.

      • Uh oh, it’s £2 cheaper at £17.99. HMV and shopto are taking pre-orders

        • Kris

Dang, at that price I might just have to import it… I love Aksys though and want to support them!

          • I applaud your effort, good sir! I just hope Zen could release this game on time. The BBCS delay was quite a disappointment. Looking forward to some awesome online matches

  • KunoichiNelliel

Release Date is April 5th for those curious

  • IceRomancer

Almost imported this game when it first came out, I’m happy to see its coming out soon! I’m got no problem with a dd version either :)

    • fermented

I’m happy that I don’t have to import this either. Obviously, many would rather have a physical copy of the game and are willing to pay more for it but a $30 digital copy is better than no localized release at all.

  • PrinceHeir

im really surprised how much PSN games i have been buying all week. Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Resident Evil 2 and 3, Castlevania Chronicles, and now the upcoming Parasite Eve II and Legend of Mana and this.

add the recent releases like Hard Corps Uprising and the upcoming Moon Diver soo much games O_O

really love the whole digital market. but i still prefer physical media. nothing like owning the disc itself :P

    can’t wait for this ^^

  • Darkrise

Kind of sad that I imported the jp version 2 months ago… But at least I have a physical copy… Right? Oh but I’ll still get this one too.

  • The only thing I can say on this matter is: Sorry Aksys; if there is no disc. I will not be buying it.

    • Kunio_kun

      Thanks, Forrest…

  • Very happy about this. Will be downloading it.

  • eliel

dose anyone know how big the file is for this game? would like to get but i gots a 80 gig ps3 and less than a gig left of free space…

  • Physical Xbox 360 release or bust.
