Gamevil’s New 2D RPG Is Illusia For Android Phones

By Ishaan . March 16, 2011 . 3:43pm

Remember Zenonia? Developed by Gamevil, it started out as a mobile phone RPG, and was eventually ported over to iPhone, DSiWare and PlayStation Minis. You can read more about the game in this older post.

Gamevil’s next project is Illusia, and it’s out now on Android phones. Unlike Zenonia, which was played top-down, Illusia is a side-scrolling RPG. The game has you go through seven different worlds to uncover the secret behind the sudden appearance of a mysterious tower.

Gameevil say Illusia also has “14 different affiliates of fighter and magician classes,” which you can customize through weapons and armour. They’ll be able to learn both active and passive skills along the course of the game.

The different fighter classes include: Fighter, Warrior, Knight, Swordman, Paladin, Sword Master, and Thunder Rod. Meanwhile, magic classes consist of: Magician, Mage, Sorceress, Battle Mage, Witch Archmage and Night Witch.

The game is downloadable from the Android market for $4.99.

The pictures resemble the popular MMORPG, maplestory. I mean it really looks very identical.

Wow, exactly my thought. I played alot of Maple Story when it launched. It was quite addicting.

Yea, I was hooked too. I made an aran character last year, but it gets pretty lame with all the annoying people and scammers/hackers.

Never mind, THIS LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE MAPLE. EVEN SOME OF THE MOVES, ENEMIES, AND MAPS. BUT I’M AMAZED HOW THEY FIT THAT IN A PHONE, PRETTY NICE.

This game looks really good. I hope the gameplay is just as good.

I see this getting ported to the 3DS.

I decided to get it…it seems pretty cool so far. Nice music, graphisc scale up nicer on my Nook Color’s decidedly larger than a cell phone screen than Zenonia does. :P Text formatting (in English, at least) is a little bit weird. Get past that and it seems like a pretty solid game though. My only complaint is that jumping is a bit touchy, but it didn’t take me long to get used to it. Also, touch screen controls are very customizable (size and position, and of course you can ‘quick slot’ the items and skills). Kind of nice to see since my Nook Color has very few physical buttons.

nice, i was always interested in maplestory but didnt want to sit in front of my puny pc. now i can play it on my puny android device!!!!!!!!

I doubt it’s anything like maplestory. It’s a game for a phone, maplestory is a mmorpg, trust me once you get addicted, you can’t stop… it’ll take a whiel for you to stop playing it.

Illusia is an awesome game. It’s pretty much Maple Story offline but with the added bonus that its well designed and the grinding isn’t so bad.

I have this on my iPhone…Not played it in a while though because my save data got deleted (had to reformat my iPhone :( )

“In the land of *VOOOOOOSH* unless the *GRRRLLLL* can restore the *PLIM*”

Sound effects are more important than the trailer narration, I suppose.
