slimemor3Square Enix is working on a Nintendo 3DS sequel to Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. In Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3: The Great Pirate Ship and Tails Troupe takes the squishy blue slime to the high seas.

You get to create and customize a pirate ship, which is used to sail around the world in stereographic 3D. Tank battles return as ship battles. Aside from being on the ocean, the gameplay is the same. Players throw items lying around into cannons to sink the enemy ship.

There will be times when the hero slime has to use his stretchy slime strike to crash through enemies and grab objects. Watch out Candy Cats, Rocket is back! Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3 is slated for a winter release in Japan.

The graphics look great!!! :D I really can’t wait to see more about it. I wonder what it will be like to sail the seas in 3D. I can’t wait to commandeer people’s ships. Well whatever challenge awaits him I’m sure the slime can pull, stretch, shoot, and googly eyes his way through it.

It would be funny in the end, where the final boss is all of the Dragon Quest heroes. It’ll be a short battle though, cause you’d die in one hit.

    • You’d transform into Metal Slimes. And you have to make sure the majority of your metal slimes are able to run away to achieve the good ending.

  • Characters look like sprites while everything else looks 3D and pretty crap-looking so definitely a step back visually from its predecessor but will still be the best game on 3DS no doubt for years to come

I doubt it will be the “best” game for 3DS. A good one, yes, but the best, no way.

      • obviously totally subjective but you’re wrong

          HOW am I wrong?

the last game “Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime” was completely 2D, so how can the new one be a step back when it’s a mix of 2d sprites and 3D models? I’d say it’s a step forward in my opinion.
