Moon Diver Demo Rises For PlayStation Network

By Spencer . March 28, 2011 . 12:09am

moondiveraWe’ve mentioned Moon Diver, Kouichi Yotsui’s multiplayer ninja game, a couple of times on Siliconera. You know, the game that Yotsui says is serious business in single player mode. He doesn’t want players to escape with their lives.

If that sounds a tad too hard give Moon Diver a test dive first. Square Enix will post a demo on PlayStation Network when the game launches this week. Moon Diver arrives in North America this Tuesday for PlayStation 3.

While Square Enix did not set a specific release date, Moon Diver is slated for an April release on Xbox 360.

  • Good god, he wants to kill us all. D:

I’ll try it out. If it’s anything like Strider PS1 it should be good

  • Kris

Is it a good demo to die, though?

  • godmars

Would really like to see someone try for a side-scrolling God of War, Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden. Something that tries to implement elements from those games. This certainly feels like its not even going to try. Just be old style Strider with multiplayer and lame polygons instead of sprites.

  • I’ll be trying this, and I hope this impresses me like hard corps uprising does

    • Code

Awesome glad to hear your enjoying it >w< I might pick it up this week on PS3, and maybe we can co-op some!

      • raymk

anyone wanna swap psn gametags to play on release day or after maybe?

  • I’m really expecting someone to come to your house once you get a game over in Moon Driver (a.k.a Mood Driver) and kill you Tonberry style.

    • Mood…. Driver? the son of Star Driver? XD

      • The form of his mech changes with his mood! :D

        • Ginga Bishounen!
          Tsundere Bishounen!
          Yandere Bishounen!
          Kakkoii Bishounen!
          Moe Bishounen!
          xxx bishounen!

      • If only I pressed the ‘D’ instead of ‘M’ as well we could have had Dood Driver

    • “There’s someone at the door…I don’t know…I assumed he was one of your friends…he’s kinda green and he’s holding…is that a lantern?…Can I help y…wait! Oh my god, he’s got a kni… OH GOD! STOP! AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!”

  • Code

Looking forward to trying it, so many good platformers lately, and a 4-player co-op platformer is something I could see being something that might get a lot of play locally here >w<' Sadly 2-player co-op wasn't always cutting it in Hard Corps, everyone wanted to play T_T'

  • Dammit! Why is it always Tuesdays and Thursdays when I’m most busy? D:

Traditionally, they haven’t been too good about releasing demos on PSN. I was worried that this would be another no-demo title that would then go ignored and eventually forgotten … by me. Glad to see things done right.

  • Wackoramaco87

Rather looking forward to this, if only for the pretty artwork. =D

  • Glad to hear this. I must admit to being unsure of this game, even though I love the style. I am hoping the gameplay is just as good.

  • PrinceHeir

    will buy this :D

no need for a demo :P

  • HarryHodd

Very interested in this. If the demo is good I will buy.

  • Okay, played the demo. Whose bright idea was it to make moving my character exclusively on the analog stick in a 2D game? Such an awful design move. That is what d-pads are for! I found the demo a little more repetitive than I would have liked, honestly, and those controls took a bit to get used to, especially after having played Hardcorps: Uprising (which is brilliant, btw) and Bionic Commando: Rearmed.
